If other computers are working perfectly then try it by replacing your network card.

you can also try it by changing the Lan card slot before replacing it with a new one..

I would like to manage the router's dhcp config. How do I get into the management screen?

The DGS-1008D is a gigabit switch and not a router. It does not have a DHCP server as it will simply pass traffic between all the devices connected to it. It is meant to be connected to a DHCP server (router).

I interconnect a D-Link DES-10160 with D-Link Gigabit Switch DGS-1024D network and my network becomes slow

connect only DGS -1024D to your network....it will be faster...
because DGS supports 10/100/1000 speed.... but DES supports only 10/100 speed...
connect DGS directly to your network and work with that... if you wish to extend the number of ports then connect the DES to one of the ports of DGS

and dont connect DGS to one of the ports of DES

WHAT ETHERNET TOPOLOGY IS USED IN SWITCHES

Switches, hubs or routers typically are used in a star topology connection, so if one device fail everything else is still working. Everithing is managed inside but not like a bus topology system. You may need to use a tree topology in some case, keeping in mind the consequence of a failure.

it depends on the type of internet service you have if it is cable internet most cable modems can act as a gateway for conecting multiple computers but the cable company needs to activate that feature on the modem.
