Hi the batteries are not powerful enough..you need re-chargeable Mah 2500 .I did this with the same model and it works fine.

Hello Bernard, There seems to be a lot of this going around !! Possible bad battery contacts or a faulty main switch. you will need to have it looked at by a tech.

Video won't work stays in still camera mode when video selected. It takes still pictures and I can't get the video mode to turn on properly

It seems that there is a problem with the rotary mode selector switch. Could be dirt or a faulty contact. Self repair is inadvised. Might be cheaper to replace the unit, and keep the C813 as a still only camera.

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use iPhoto or any other photo cataloging program.

You may download Kodak software from here.

You don't really need the Kodak software. Help

Kodak works on a different kind of warranty where you are able to book the camera in for a warranty repair and on the third time repair if it gets to that you can have the camera replaced. If your camera is still within the 28 day period of purchase, you are able to take it back to the store of purchase. You can get more information on this by contacting them telephonically or via email.

What codec do I download for kodak zoom digital camera C813

Hi,
You might have received a CD along with your Kodak Purchase.. There should be a movie player that Kodak provides along with its camera, try installing that software and that should resolve the issue.
Please let me know if that helps :)

Srinivas
