BenQ Monitor ' Out Of Range '

I got an BENQ FP731 monitor and when I boot it up , it shows my computer type and stuff and the Windows XP screen but after like 3 seconds , it turns blank then says OUT OF RANGE. Is there anything I can do to change it when it is starting up?

I also have the same problem. When I tried to install my newly purchased BenQ E2200 HD (22-inch LCD) monitor, its screen showed the Windows XP icon for the first few seconds, and then went black, subsequently showing the words "Out of range" in the middle of the screen and nothing more.

Hence, I cannot use my new monitor because it does not respond to any commands. For this reason, I had to reinstall my old glass screen monitor, otherwise I would not be able to use my computer.

Unfortunately, when I try to change my monitor display settings I am unable to do so, because they are automatically set to the glass screen monitor that I am presently using and seem to be unalterable. Is it possible to add additional display settings for an additional monitor (my new BenQ LCD)? If so, then how?

Or alternatively, perhaps I am missing the driver for my new LCD monitor? The BenQ monitor did come with a CD, but the instruction manual in this CD doesn't clearly explain how to access the CD's driver, or indicate if the CD even has a driver for this monitor!

I will be grateful for anybody's kind assistance.

    Many thanks,

I have a 15 inch BenQ FP731 monitor and its been working all fine for the past year, until yesterday. I have an Acer laptop hooked up to the monitor as its screen was wrecked so I just kept the display on...

This because your ACER laptop having higher resolution than your monitor. Please lower your ACER laptop resolution as low as possible then try again.

My benq fp547 says its out of range...the image still shows up but there is a bar in the middle of the screen that says out of range...any ideas?

In windows change your display refresh rate to 60Hz. If you cant get into windows, boot into safe mode by holding f8 after a computer restart and change the settings from there.

I RECENTLY STARTED USING BENQ MONITOR & NOW I HAVE IRRITATION ON MY EYES. WILL THERE BE ANY RADIATION FROM BENQ MONITORS

There's practically no radiation from LCD monitors, especially compared to older CRT monitors, which radiated several sorts of electromagnetic waves.

Is the picture on your monitor crisp, with good focus? If the letters and shapes are blurry, it may mean that you are using a different screen resolution than the native resolution of your LCD.
If your monitor type is FP731, then it's native resolution is 1280x1024 and this is what should be set in the Display Properties under Settings tab (in Windows). If it's a different model, you can search for it's specs on the web to see what is it's native (a.k.a. optimum) resolution.

Monitor not showing anything

If it is still under warranty from Benq (3yrs), call them for a return. I have one (FP731) and did the same thing. There is an IC within the monitor that is bad. Pretty soon there will be nothing on the screen.

Change the 2SC5707 transistors and electrolytic caps in the inverter
