Dvdr5520h DVD player HDMI connector problem

Hi S MArr
There are several input HDMI connectors and most often only one out put ---connector. Make sure you have connected your output HDMI to the TV/Projector and the DVD to one of the inputs and chose that input on your AV receiver ! Do not forget to turn on the DVD too. and give the Receiver and the TV some time to recognize and setup themselves to the signal.

Best of luck!

Try pressing the HDMI button on the remote control to toggle the display output to something that your television will recognize. You can also try The progressive button and see if that helps. I am assuming you model is the XD-E500 model.

No hdmi funktion to my new LED TV.

Most likely the output from the Pioneer is not compatible with the TV.
Try resetting the output by holding Stop (on the pioneers front) and press the Open/close button. This will reset the output signal. Also, if the harddrive in the Pioneer is defect, the HDMI signal will not output.

No sound

The Philips DVP5982 has an odd menu setup for the HDMI sound.
If you get sound from the analog outputs from the unit, but no sound when you use the HDMI output, use this procedure to see if you can restore it:

On the remote control, press Setup.
- Right cursor to the Audio Setup Page
- Go down to Digital Audio Setup
-Right cursor, to get to the screen that shows

Digital Output
LPCM Output
HDMI Audio Setup

Try to go up to the Digital Output setting- if you can't , and instead it shows only HDMI Audio Setup with the "On" highlighted in blue, this is the quirk:

Go into the HDMI Audio Setup, and select "Off", and press Enter, so it's highlighted in blue.

Now it should let you go into the Digital Output menu selection, where you may find it to be on the "Off" setting.

Select "All", and then you can go back to the HDMI Audio Setup and set it to On again, and it should now output sound from the HDMI again.

For some reason, they decided to lock out the Digital Output settings menu when the HDMI Audio is On- go figure.

So you need to turn off the HDMI sound before you turn the sound on.. ;)
