Firewire cord or Camera???

So i got a new camera (Samsung VP-D381i/XSA) for my birthday and it only has a firewire connection. so i went down to my local pc store and bought a PCI IEEE 1394 card made by the LASER company (laserco.net). i placed my card in my pc and turned it on it recignised it instantly as well as the camera, and i could use the camera to a full extent. after i had some power issues with my pc i took the card out. after repairing the computer i replaced the card in the computer and i know it works because it is shown in the driver manager. but now the camera is not connecting at all. wat i would like to know is how to fix it and if its from my camera or the firewire cord. please help me with this if you could.
