I believe you may not have the drivers, you can go into my computer, control panel, device manager. if you click on the + - boxes to the left you can open up the devices. if you see yellow errors markers you need to update the drivers, if connected to the internet windows will search for suitable drivers for you.
if there are no suitable drivers you will need to visit the computer manufacturers web site and manually download and install the drivers .

How can change my operating system

To change the operating systems say from Windows XP to Windows Vista or Windows 7 you need to purchase Windows upgrade disk or a full version of the Windows installation disk.
You boot up with this Windows installation CD to install the new operating system and follow the screen instructions.

I required sound and lan card drivers for hp pavilion dv6516tx for windows xp proffessional

You need to download the drivers from the Compaq/HP WEB support/download page. Make sure you select your model laptop and the XP Windows version of the drivers you require and install them.

Use this link to download the drivers

Blue screen

If  you are trying to install Windows XP in latest Notebook, it will not be able to detect the Hard Drive since all the latest Notebooks are shipped with SATA Hard Drives and by default and Windows XP will not be able to detect SATA Hard Drives by default.
If you are having a Intel based Notebook, you need to download the SATA Drivers from the link below :
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp36001-36500/sp36132.exe

Find the instructions to create a bootable XP Disk using the SATA Drivers from the link below :

Hope this helps...

Google the OPHCrack Live Cd on another computer. download the cd image and then burn this cd. boot it on your laptop... this can take a while.... after it fully boots(which can take up to 30 minutes) it will display all windows passwords in the program window in the top let corner of the screen.... If your first boot off of the cd fails then choose a different video mode in the startup menu....

Windows XP problem

Is the problem you are having that xp doesn't find the hard disk to install on? If so, then your laptop has a SATA harddrive and this is not supported by xp. a custom driver needs to be loaded for sata support, the setup program asks you to press a button in the begining of the setup to load this driver, unless your laptop has a diskette drive, this will be a little complex. let me know if this is the issue you have or how can I help you?
