Mic low sensativity problem.here is a "microphone boost" checkbox under realtek sound manager program ->mixer tab->playback-> (scroll to right) and you see mic volume.
Here is the very sneak part. There is a speaker icon and there is a button with ".." written on it. Press that and it shows the "microphone boost" checkbox.

First, make sure you are using the most recent version of Skype as we are continually improving quality in each version.

Make sure all your PC's drivers are up-to-date (sound, video,
motherboard controllers etc - please contact the manufacturers of your
    hardware for updated drivers).

Also make sure your firewall/router is not blocking Skype in any way.
Try opening UDP traffic both ways to both the port found in Skype's
"Connection" window in Tools -> Options and also ports 80 & 443
    - tick the option to use the ports and open both TCP and UDP traffic to
all three - keep in mind UDP traffic's availability for Skype results
in better sound quality than just data traversal over TCP. If you're
not sure how to make such changes ask a tech-savvier friend or your
    system administrator for assistance.

Another way of improving quality is to shut down any file sharing
applications or internet software that consumes a lot of bandwidth. If
you are downloading files at the same as using Skype call quality will
    be greatly diminished.

Also a manual refresh in Skype's data traversal information can be helpful:

    The procedure is as follows:

    * Close Skype

    * Locate the shared.xml file found in

    C:\Documents and settings\Your Windows Username\Application data\Skype\shared.xml

(showing hidden folders and files has to be turned on)

    * Delete shared.xml

    * Start Skype (shared.xml will be recreated).

Another possibility to improve conditions is to disable QoS (Quality of Service) packet scheduling.

Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Network Connections

Right click on the connection you are using (e.g. "Local Area Connection") and select Properties

    Untick the "QoS Packet Scheduler"

Sir,

Click this link for more information........

http://support.skype.com/index.php?_a=knowledgebase&_j=questiondetails&_i=35

Also Check........

On a PC with external speakers and also a headset with microphone. Windows XP is configured so that standard audio are external speakers and standard microphone is the headset. Skype is configured to use the headset for audio in and out.

This way one can listen to sound from the PC and from MP3 players through external speakers and if there is a call to make or take, this is going through the headset.

But now there is the problem that the noise level for the headset is too low. Increasing volume has no effect on the headset, it only affects the external speaker's volume.

Now the solution: Going to the control panel and opening the sound setting, go to the audio tab. The external speakers are selected as default. Just temporarily select the headset and then click on volume just below. You can now set the volume for the headset, click OK and click cancel (!!!) on the sound control dialog box. This way the external speakers remain as default output.

Skype-->Tools -> Options -->Sound Devices-->audio device/USB/etc Audio Device (do NOT use windows default device)
You can also tick the ring pc speaker check box as this is a good backup to alert you even
if the main speakers are off or turned down.

Windows:
Start-->Control panel-->Sound and Audio devices
On the audio tab set the default playback device to your main soundcard(AC97/Audio-chip/add-on-adapter), etc.
Your installed audio device must be present there.
If not, reinstall audio device

thanks
good luck

2)Check if your micro (pink) and speaker (lime) jacks are really correct and fully inserted!
They sometimes stuck.
For test only you can use earphone instead of microphone for Line In.
Standard micro in Line In will NOT work.
Go to:
Start
Programs
Accessories
Entertainment or go to
Volume Control; right click on loudspeaker icon in Task Tray
Options
Microphone
Scroll down
Check "Microphone"
If the bar "Microphone" is available, the microphone is detected by Windows now go on
(If not, Windows has a problem with your microphone)
Just to check if your microphone is broken or bad, you can use your headphones instead. They really work!
Which one L or R is microphone now, I think it's L
Check "Advanced properties"

Check Micro "Advanced"
Open
Check "20db boost" or "1.MIC boost" depending on language version
Volume level can be left in any position.
Mute microphone!!!

3. Check audio now on windows base.
Start
Programs
Accessories
Entertainment
Soundrecorder

4. Once done, test with Skype Test Call echo123.

Doesn't work with Skype

Fixed it: the microphone on the headphone was switched off - it's a bit of a design weakness in the Logitech headset: it's easy to unintentionally turn the microphone off while putting the headset on. The lower half of the right headphone's central medallion is a button - indicated by a crossed out microphone icon.

Microsoft LifeChat Microphone Headset Doesn't Work Properly

You should take your headset to another computer/location and see if your problem still exists.
That way you can eliminate problems with either your computer hardware or your outgoing internet connection (jitter).
I don't think that the CD will be necessary, since it is a USB device, which contains it's own little sound card and doesn't need any drivers.
If the problem persists and it turns out to be a problem with the headset, I would definitely return/exchange it.

Can't Hear Anything

Did it come with software if so did you install that?

If you have it may just be a loose wire in the headset, i would take it back and ask for a replacement.

Hope this helps,

and good luck.
