    RESET UNIT IT WORKS FINE.

  • nellanatt Nov 06, 2008

It helped in initializing the camera. But the problem with the blinking flash sign has not stopped, even though the camera was initialized several times. Further, the camera flash does not flash even when shooting in the dark.

    Thanks for trying !

I have a Canon PowerShot SD1000 Digital ELPH Camera that will not flash. Even if I set the camera to flash all the time, and not just auto, it still won't flash--the orange light just keeps blinking but the picture won't take and the flash won't go.

Press Menu button
togle across from REC Mode to setup
togle down thrice from camera to setup 1
togle across into sub menu
togle down from four times to Initialize
togle across again to the sub-menu
togle up from cancel to OK
press center button to accept the OK choice
Screen changes and so press okay again
It should restart the camera
Opening on the 'Clock Set' screen
togle down to cancel and use the camera and make sure that you have the camera to flash, if it works try again in the Auto function.
If it is still not working do not worry follow the steps again two or three more times, As this is generally a software error message and not a hardware malfunction.
If it is working then don't forget to set your Clock.

SONY CYBERSHOT DSC - H3 DIGITAL CAMERA FLASH PROBLEM

Hi Jim,
Have you tried resetting all settings on the camera? On a Sony camera, it is called "initialize". The initialize setting is found by going to the menu, and tabbing down until you find an option called either "reset settings" or "initialize settings" and then confirm it.
Many times that will fix the issue, in case something has either been enabled/disabled on accident, or the software is sticking (which happens from time to time)

E:91:01 in DSC-W80

I can't recall all the Sony error codes off the top of my head, but I believe E:91 is that your flash is not working.

Can you take pictures at all or do you get just the error code? If you can take a picture with the flash off then your flash needs to be replaced.

If you can't use the camera you need to first press the reset button, then reset all camera settings to default.

1-3. PROCESS AFTER FIXING FLASH ERROR
When "FLASH error" (Self-diagnosis Code E : 91 : 01) occurs, to prevent any abnormal situation caused by high voltage, setting of the flash is changed automatically to disabling charge and flash setting. After fixing, this setting needs to be deactivated. Flash error code can be initialized by the operations on the HOME screen.

Method for Initializing the Flash Error Code
Initialize
Initializes the setting to the default setting. Even if you execute this function, the images stored in the internal memory are retained.
1 Select [Initialize] with v/V/b/B, then press z. The message "Initialize all settings" appears. 2 Select [OK] with v, then press z. The settings are reset to the default setting.

To cancel the resetting
Select [Cancel] in step 2, then press z.
· Make sure that the power is not disconnected during resetting.

Hope this helps.

Blurring pictures

I had the same problem. Somehow my flash was set on "SL - Keep subjects and distant backgrounds bright." When I changed the flash to "Auto", it seemed to get rid of the blurry pictures.

Can't take picture with flash on

Hi

Your flash is defective and needs to be replaced, nothing else will fix the problem.

One solution is to look online for a defective camera and use the parts to fix yours. Another is to buy a flash from someone like us who sells new and used parts and performs repairs if you can't do it yourself.

Please feel free to check us out, Google: Darntoothysam and you will find us, I cant post a link.

Thanks and good luck from Darntoothysam com

Flash not working...

I have a DSC-W80 CyberShot I had a problem with the error code on the LCD Screen that said E:91:01. I played with the camera for a little bit and found the if you push the home button and go to settings. When you get to the settings go to main settings, When you get there go to initalize and follow the instructions. MAKE SURE YOU SAVE YOUR PICTURES OR TAKE THE MEMORY CARD OUT OR YOU WILL LOSE ALL THE PICTURES. I hope this will help you.

The camera is probably is "Burst" mode where you hit the picture button and it contineously takes the picture. Hit menu and look to see if you have it set to burst mode if so take it off and it will work..I just found the answer on here :)
