RUUD model URGG-10E31JKR GASS PACK purge fan and main blower

Ruud Gas pack unit will not light off burners. Suspect purge fan faulty. Need instructions (pictorial) HOW TO replace. Got unit operational by spinning the fan, but it sticks again. Also, want to lube or repair squeaky main circulation blower and need pictoial HOW TO gain access to bearings.

TIA

I replaced the purge fan and motor assembly yesterday.

What I requested and still need is a MANUAL for the unit or PICTORIAL of the inside of the big green box behind the house. Can anyone steer me toward that info?

BTW, the unit is eighteen years old, so may have lube ports for the blower.motor. However, I am seeking the manual/pictorial so as to avoid the necessity of removing all the cover panels of the unit to find the location of the blower and motor. I want to know if the blower is in an accessible location. How much material/components must be removed to gain access to it? If I must contiue with out a manual, eventually, I will not need one.

Thank you HVAC guy. That is helpful. I was concerned lest the blower assembly be mounted in some inaccessible place. Thanks for the Noland idea too. Ya.

If the purge fan wont start on its own see if there is a capactor attached. if not replace it. more than likely you cannot lube the bearings in your blower motor. the new fans are not serviceable.

to gain access to the blower you will need to remove the top  panel of the unit on the side where the burners are. the blower and squirrel cage will pull straight up through the top once you remove a couple of screws and wires. it will look something like the above picture. if there are lube points you will see them on the motor. as far as the pictorial is concerned try calling a local noland warehouse near you and ask them if they have any manuals you can photocopy.

Problem could be the thermostat setting in "fan on" mode. Thermostat could be shorted between Y,R and G. Fan relay points soldered together or main board shorted.

I have a RUUD gas pack unit.....when you turn on the heat, the blower does not blow any air out of the vents while on "auto". If you put it on "on" it blows cold air out of the vents. What is wrong?

Sounds like the thermostat is hooked up wrong. If the ac doesnt work right its in the thermostat programming or the wiring. Hope this helps good luck

Ruud silhouette #UHDG-07EAUER won't heat house

Cleaning the flame sensor has nothing to do with blower motor not turning on. You either one of the following problems 1 bad cap for motor. 2 bad motor. 3 bad limit on blower housing or 4 a bad board. You will need a volt meter to check for these problems. Try seeing if the fans runs with unit of and fan switch turned to on. Also does motor hummmm. Is motor cage free ( can check by manually turning) If motor doesnt humm and the cage is free wheeling then you will need to find out if you have power going to the motor. If you find out that you do then you will need to change blower motor. If you do not have power then you will need to check limit with continuity tester on volt meter. If that checks fine only 1 thing can be wrong and that is the board.
