I have a Carrier Weathermaker SX HVAC unit with a Honeywell thermostat. Even if the thermostat is turned "off", my fan keeps blowing!

Hello, usually this is a sign of a bad blower relay on the intergrated control board. The only option is to replace the control board.

"In Recovery" is a message

Hello, It is a feature that lets the thermostat determine when it is best to start coming out of set back and howw long t heat back up. You can disable this feature if you have the manual for the tstat, i belive you have to go to the program menu on the thermostat. It's basically a feature to save energy.

What position does the small lever on the right side of the T87 Honeywell Round T-stat need to be in to be OFF ?

The switch on the right side of the T87 is for the fan. Down is the auto position which will cause the fan to run only when needed. Up is the always-on position, used to circulate the air constantly. If you want to shut down all heating cooling associated with this thermostat you need to look at the switch on the left side of the stat. To the right is heating, center is OFF, and left is ac.

I have a honeywell smartfit but it keeps coming up with a F4 error

I had exactly the same problem. F4 code says the control valve has jammed --- but it hadn’t.

I ended up having to swap out the room controller and the base unit (I bought the pair since it was winter and I couldn’t ‘eff’ about)

On investigating (well, you have to don’t you?) I could find no obvious fault but did notice that a large electrolytic capacitor was across the actuator motor.

Since these things work by reversing the supply polarity to the motor to drive the actuator one way and the other it strikes me as strange that a polarity sensitive component, one that must be always connecter positive to positive, is used in the way that it is.

Bottom line, tough luck, mate. Replace the units.

My becket honeywell r7184p oil burner monitor is not resetting it keeps blinking a fast green. What should i be looking for?

my Beckett oil burner with a honeywell R7184P just did the same thing. Quit burning, blinks for half a second. The burner says press reset once, if it does not reset then call a local serviceman. It is cold here in Alaska, you betcha', and my oil must have jelled up. It happened once, but pressing reset solved my problem, two days later it stopped again. I applied heat (hair dryer) to my supply line, added an anti-jelling solution to my tank. Here is what I found.

"The Honeywell R7184P-1080 (interrupted control—transformer shuts down 10 seconds after flame is established) is now the standard control used on all Beckett oil burners along with the new “Cleancut” pump. The Honeywell control has both a 15 second pre-purge and a 15 second post purge feature, as well as internal self-checking of the control itself. The control has 15 second lockout timing plus a 10 second ignition carry over period. After 3 lockouts during the same call for heat, the control goes into restricted lockout., A restricted lockout condition may be reset by holding the reset button down for 30 seconds until the LED flashes twice. At any time the control is powered, the reset button may be held for 30 seconds to reset the lockout counter. There are several new “Service Features” with the R7184P control that make for easier servicing."

You have to press the reset button for thirty seconds. I don't know how cold it it there, or what number oil you guys are burning, but what I do know is that you guys have been pressing your reset button more than once.

This worked for me. Good luck.
