Question about RCA F20632SE 20" TV
This TV had an intermittent high pitch and the screen going dark then ok then finally went out. Now when I plug it in, it has that high pitch constantly. I looked in the HV area for burnt parts and found the Horz output transistor was shorted B-E and B-C. I replaced it and the flyback. I plug it in and now the TV no longer has the high pitch sound and sounds normal. I turn on the TV and nothing happens. What else can be bad? No schematic.
Back - light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis.
To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement. To some models sets, the back-light inverter and SMPS section circuit will be integrated at its main board itself. If so; the main board should be replaced. To some models of sets, all these section circuit will be integrated at its main board. If this is the case, you have to replace the main board.

Confirm service # from back of set = F36650 YX01..........
Transformer red HV lead attaches to CRT & Horiz output
xistor is on heatsink next to transformer = 2SC5148 .........
Rca part # 257805 or ASTI 2078 and 237470 xistor............
Do not use a generic transistor = name brand only............T.
Please rate this solution..............

If this is a regular CRT tv or a tube TV, seems to me an axed Horizontal Output Transistor. Its commonly the one that makes the high pitch whine on CRT tv. Some other are the SMPS transformer.
Too summarize you could be either have a short/fault on high voltage section or power supply side circuitry.
Hope it helps.
