PC hot temperature reading on speedfan software

Do you know anything of the Speedfan software download?

i recently downloaded it and temp reading #3 reads 128 degrees celcius this worries me mildly. if you know what temp #3 is in this software could you let me know wut it is reading?

should i be worried in the first place?

keep in mind that this software reads temps in the pc and one of them (#3) read 128 degrees celcius!

this was a free download that i thought may be useful. and a high temp reading worried me. if you think you have any comment in the least, could i please hear it.

This temp is normal...not anything to worry about this..
it is serious if it goes above 180 degree...
even if reaches 150 mark the replacement of the heat absorbing PASTE in-between the processor and the heat sink will solve this for you

thankyou

Hopefully you fixed anything you had to by this time since the posting ,but just in case .It might be a good thing just to remove this program from your pc if the site where you downloaded the software also has things for sale that can help fix the heating problem for you. Many of these sites will have the free download give false info so the consumer buys their product .which by the way comes with some additional software which cancels out the thing that trigger the heat reading in the first place. So all you end up paying for is a driver that removes part of the free download.so the warning wont pop up anymore.

I hope this helps many consumers as this is the same thing many companies do especially many of the free antivirus programs on the web that miraculously finds a billion things wrong with your pc in about 30 seconds. Then want to sell you the full version that cant remove these imaginatory viruses and worms which in many cases are programs you purposely downloaded anyway that contain some kind of ads.

Hello,
Can you identify that #3 which read 128 degree celius?

However, you can identify what parts is overheating by going open the cpu of the pc and then switch on and touch those you suspected parts.

however, on the other hand, thats maybe a software bugs because if you really convinced that your system is very functional then you have to stay to it.

Loud fan noise every 3-4 minutes

It's probably the automatic control of the CPU fan. When the temperature goes up the fan speed increases witch generates more noise. When the CPU cooler accumulates dust the temperature rises faster so try and see if that's the problem. If that's not it you can download a software to manually control your fans.I recommend SpeedFan and you can get it here: http://www.almico.com/sfdownload.php

I have a Dell Optiplex sx 280 desktop that has cooling fans that seem to be running too fast. I tried to upgrade the CPU but the one that I put in was not compatable and I put the original back in along...

Download Speedfan and check your internal temperatures while you are running. A high core temp might mean dust build up on cooling fins and/or case vents, an improperly installed heat sink, or poor case air flow. Just to name a few.

HP Desktop goes into a quick black screen then comes back frozen?

If you did mention the measures you've already taken, i can narrow down the troubleshooting tips. Anyway, please follow the steps below (if you haven't done).
  1. Restore the system to the previous state before you updated the windows.
  2. Clean the heat sink and apply some more coolant paste.
  3. Boot into Safe Mode and check if the problem still persists or not.
Do let me know how far you've done and the results of the above three measures.
Good luck.
Thanks for using FixYa.

There is a software called "SpeedFan" which you can download here

This software will tell you the internal temperatures of the computer (so you can figure out if overheating is the problem). Most of the time overheating is due to excessive dust inside the laptop. The best bet is to get a can of compressed air and clean the inside out. This does require some disassembling of the system, so if you are not comfortable doing so I would advise you to take it to a local computer shop.

Another solution would be to purchase a "Laptop Cooler", this will lower your temperatures anywhere from 5-10 degree's, but can get annoying to lug around with you. You can view some laptop coolers here

If you happen to run the Speedfan application, let us know what the temperatures displayed as, and I can tell you if it is running too hot!

Shuting dow, restart

3D Games are very processor intensive and combined with your graphics card can produce a lot of heat. Check the temperature of the CPU, it is probably too hot. You will have to check online to find the max temp of your specific processor. To check the temparature you can either use a program like sisoft SANDRA ($$$) or speedfan (FREE), or when your PC restarts, you can go into your bios setup and find your internal temperatures there. If it is too hot, open the case and make sure that the inside is not blanketed with dust. Speedfan will tell you how fast your fans are spinning, and you may need to replace one, or add one. I am nearly certain that the resets are caused by overheating...how to go about cooling it is another problem altogether.

I have a gateway 7320gz that shuts off constantly. I bought a replacement fan and want to put it in. Can anyone tell me how to go about this?

Make sure you turn the PC off and unplug the power cord. Then you can follow this little tutorial here, (print it out if you only have one computer) ( http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/cooldrives/ide-drive-to-sata-adapter-plug-image-2.jpg ).

You can download Speedfan which is a program to monitor CPU and system temperatures and see if the fans are running properly.

My computer shut off and won't come back on

Most likely your CPU is overheating. Download speedfan from this link. Speedfan monitors the temperature of your CPU. Note the temperature when the PC shuts off on its own. Let me know if this is helpful.
