Mine did this brand new and Dell refused to do anything about it apart from run through the tech support on the phone to work out what the problem is.

Now it just turns on and off and the guys where I take it to are stumped, it keeps coming up with a blue screen and says about the BIOS memory physical dump etc.

Hi, maybe he was over heating, open your tower and look the fan of your CPU and POWER SUPPLY. Did they work? If yes, did the dirt on the heatsink of the cpu hide the heatsink? If yes clean it and make a test!

My DELL Dimension 5150 fan is making a great noise, how can I fix it?

Turn the computer off.
Disconnect the AC power.
Remove the side-panel.
Buy a can of compressed-air, and give your computer a "blow-job" to remove dust from "everywhere", including the fan(s).

If you still get noise, then it's time to replace the fan.
Take the computer to any computer-store, so that they can sell you a new fan that matches the current fan.

Go to Start --> Run, type "msconfig".

Go to the tab labeled "Startup", and disable all the items on that list.

Make sure you are not on the "SERVICES" list.

Dell Dimension 5150 Boot Problems!

You can probably try two things here.

1) Go to the BIOS and reset the defaults.
2) Clear NVRAM from your Dell computer. Here is how you do it.
