DTC-210 blinking lights

So i took out the 4 yr old barely used HDTV receiver for Directv as I have decided to get service with them again. When I plug the thing in the power and HDTV lights go crazy clicking and blinking. What the heck is going on? the thing was fine when I put it away safely in its box on top of the closet. Any idea what the deal could be?

I have the same problem. From what I have seen so far it either a bad power supply ic or it is a standby mode. I have my fingers crossed that is the latter. Mine is sitting here right now clicking away. One post I found said to leave it plugged in for 3 hours and it will start working. hope they are right. This looks like a nice reciever especially for the $3.50 I gave for it a t a thrift store. I will try to update tomorrow if this fies the problem.

In the past few years there has been alot of HD changes with directv. There are new dishes and more programming. what type of receiver are you using. it may need the to update its software? You also can try this. power up the receiver without any satellite cables plugged in. see if it will start clicking. if it doesnt plug in the satellite cable. let me know what happens

Scenic megane 4 yr old, 13K miles, just had service,

Hi
faulty spark plugs is that the garage/dealer/mechanic said to you ?

Sounds like to me a ignition coil, and your car has 4 so this could possibly mean in the future more visits to the garage, to be sure I can suggest taking off the top engine cover and see if you have 4 grey ignition coils, manufactures name SAGEM, also now factory replaces with black coils.

Sony Bravia KDL 46", no picture, standby light blinks 4 times

Since the TV is still receiving power, the problem is going to be with the TV's mainboard.  After you unplugged the TV and plugged it back in, you said the power light went out again, so I assume the standby light wasn't flashing again?  The flashing standby light is indicating an error code so my suggestion is to contact Sony for service options regardless if there is a warranty or not because service is the only solution to this situation.  Don't forget to provide them the error code or 4 flashes repeating.

Directv dvr will not power on. The record light

Unplug the DVR for about 20 minutes and then plug it back in. If that doesn't work its probably time to contact DTV for a replacement.

My Directv DVR receiver will not stay on it is blinking yellow??

Unplug it from the power for about 30 minutes and then try again. If it still doesn't work I would call DirecTV and discuss getting it replaced.

Is this TV HD capable?

This is not an HDTV. However, that does not mean you cannot use it to view the HD channels with DirecTV, you just wont be able to view them in hi-def. Use the component inputs from the directv tuner and plug those into the proper component inputs of your JVC. Once you see the DirecTV picture on the screen, go into menu... setup (with the directTV remote) and make sure that the only resolution checked is 480i. DirecTV with 'downconvert' those cannels to standard def, and they will still look pretty good though the component connection...

... now, in answer to your next question: "What exactly do I need to view HDTV with DirecTV?"...

1. A television that will accept 720p or 1080i signals.
2. A DirecTV HD Tuner.
3. Any DirecTV service BUT you must purchase the HD pack so that they will 'unlock' the HD channels
4. The proper cables to hook in between your DirecTV HD receiver and your HD-capable TV/Monitor. You may use either HDMI or component video cables, so long as your TV will accept them. Tune your TV input accordingly. When using component video cables, you must also run a separate cable(s) for audio...

Take care,
Rob

ps. DirecTV HD tuners do not have an RF 'out'. ("coaxial or ch3/4 connection")
