Problems on my Minolta A1

Hi there here is hoping somebody can help me.
I last used the camera two weeks ago and all was fine,on using it last night all images were a mass of lines as the enclossed image hopefully shows.
I have shot in all modes ,camera quality settings etc,also i have tried different camera cards and batteries,even leaving it without batteries overnight but to no avail.
When using in movie mode the camera works normally and clips can be played back normally.
I have had the camera for nearly 3 years and taken thousands of trouble freeshots with it any advise would be greatfully appreciated.
