When tv is powered on tv only displaying channel number and sound -no raster. using video mode displays are ok. sound is also ok

Check and replace damaged component/s at its horizontal scan output section circuit. Check the LOT (Line Output Transformer) too for damage. Replace the horizontal scan output transistor. Check the input voltage to LOT. If the voltage is absent check the feeder resistor; if any. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. No display

You start as we all do at the begining. But where is that?
It's before you even remove the back cover. Being able to isolate the cause of the problem when you don't have a service manual and the only tool you have is a screwdriver to remove the back, is part of the secret of appliance servicing.
When you first switch on a set do you hear a one second hum.
If yes then the degaus is functioning and the ac power cord, on/off switch and fuse are all ok
Is the power led lit and do you get sound. Yes! then 5volt supply to
microprocessor is present, sound stage and power supply are all ok. Do you get a raster (brightness on screen). Yes ! then line driver, line output and frame stages are all ok. If no raster then run the back of your hand across the face of the screen, can you feel the static electricity. Yes, then EHT is present. Turn off the room lights and look through the ventillation holes of the rear cabinet, can you see the faint glow of the tube heaters. If no then you probably have dry joints on the tube base socket or on the flyback transformer. You've done all this and you haven't even taken the back of yet.

No picture

No picture can mean different things to different people. To a technician it often means no raster. Since we have sound it most likely means we have no EHT supply to the tube and our attention will be drawn to a problem in the line output stage. But television receivers are devious litle devils and often hide the true nature of the problem. A fault in the frame output stage often results in a blank screen. Shurely not you'd get a bright horizontal line across the screen I hear you say (my good hearing is a result of listening to peoples service problems for the last fifty years) well no since
in most sets the beam limiting will take effect, blanking the raster to prevent image burn on the screen. If you increase the A1 voltage on the flyback transformer, it's right next to the focus adjustment you will see the horizontal line become visible. Turn the A1 back so the line disappears. Check LT supply to frame stage for open circuit safety resistor, replace frame output ic and check all electrolytic capacitors around the IC.
Give yourself a pat on back for not being fooled by the little devil and explain to your television that your more than a match fot it.

EHT Faliure and kindly give me the alternate EHT details .

Hi Rayjanardank
Eht on all modern ctv is generated with in the flyback transformer , although some older tv set use a triplier unit feed with a 8kv pulse from the flyback transforme
To find out the one that you have got , if the flyback transformer as two controls A1 and Focus mounted on it then the eht is generated inside, if the Focus contol is mounted on the tippler unit unit .As you do not state the make mod No of tv i cannot be of any more assistant but you could cheek the A1 voltage on the crt base , if this is about 350/430volt then the eht should be ok. Hope this might help with your problem.

Rca truflat tv goes blank after 30 minutes, then I can't get a

When this goes off is there a loud crack? If so perhaps the B+ supply is increasing increasing the the EHT to the CRT and the crack is the voltage across the spark gap in the crt base jumping to chassis/earth shutting down the TV. Or perhaps just a dusty/dirty eht cap, again EHT discharge, or could be a eht tripler being faulty. Further investigation with the aid of a service manual is required I am afraid.

No raster no audio,Zenith SJ 2065S5

as horizontal transistor gets very hot so no eht so no raster &no sound due to nosupply to vif & tuner. as hor output is getting hot please isolate supply to hor. section & check power supply output is ok as due to high voltage h/outout may get hot & demaged. if supply is ok check for leaky or short parts in hor output. 1 hor. output transistor itself if it is replaced that may not be of proper matching. 2 diode& eht section. 3 clean print near eht. 4 moisture near yoke due to rain in rainy season only. so keep it hot for few hours. 5 at last if all are ok eht or fly back transformer. re connect power to hor output after rectification
