The cartridge is only good as long as there is enough ink in it.. There is no specific time period, but depend upon how many colour intensive prints you'd been making so far. Try a new cartridge and see. that should resolve the issue. Mind you, best buy only original inks and not refilled or generic cartridges, as these could cause you complications in the future...
