What is the exact problem, is it not showing up at all, does it have power? meaning can it open and close. If it does have power, does it auto load the disc when you put a disc into the drive? I will need more clarification please

Sounds like the drivers were removed at some point. Ok,
http://www.cdrom-drivers.com/
Follow that link, Match it to what you have for a CD Rom drive. They have everything, even the old stuff i still use on my other computers. *If this does not work. Then check the cables of the cd rom drive and make sure the serial cable is in. this is a thin long strip cable that goes from your motherboard to your cd rom. BUT before you even touch anything, make sure to touch something made of real metal to remove all static electricity that is on your body, ive goofed plenty of times working on a system by not doing that and toasted a few drives that way.

Now if all else fails, and i am saying it would have to mean that the drive is dead. You will need to buy a new drive. But ITS Very hard to remove the drivers for a CD Rom drive because of the fact that they are in BIOS of the CPU. So unless you were in there doing something, the cd rom drive should work. But CD Rom drives have a work like of 2 years at max usually, its rare to find drives that last longer than that unless they were barely used. Hence why i still have some really old drives for my server system.

Aspire ase380-ud421a cd/dvd drive stopped working

Try going to system setup by hitting Delete when you see the acer/aspire logo when you restart, then open your drive there. If it doesn't work, it is likely that your drive needs to be replaced. You could also try reseating (pulling out and putting back in) the cables inside the computer that's connected to your drive. All else fails, replace the drive.

How to use the CineDashMediaConsole on a ACER Aspire 8920

Every now and then, the CineDash media console on the Aspire Gemstone Blue models freezes, turns off, refuses to work, leaves you in locked out of the car in the pouring rain… The causes are endless, but the solution is quite simple.

To reset the CineDash, remove the power cable AND the battery for more than ten seconds.

Tadaa!

Have an Acer Aspire Gemstone Laptop 5920 The mouse touchpad has frozen - how can I get it to work?

You can try to boot your laptopwith a live Linux CD (e.g. Knoppix CD). This OS can bypass windows installation on the hard drive.See if you can use the touchpad. If the problem is still the same, then your problem is not related to your windows software. It could be a hardware problem.

I just bought an Acer Aspire 7720 notebook which was a display model. Unfortunately, to my surprise, no one seems to know what the password is to get on it. Is there a way to reset this password?

Removing the password especially that embedded in the mainboard is difficult. Passwords are usually stored in a specific component of the mainboard.
If you can get to the configuration settings (i.e., reboot and hit F2, or Delete depending on what is displayed on the screen as the computer boots), you may try to Restore to Default Settings. If you have no other option, you may need to reformat the drive.
