Question about RCA D52W19 52" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Powers on, no sound, no picture, powers off.

Our TV powers on by the front button, or the remote. The green light is on. No picture, no sound. Then it goes off. It will turn on again, by itself, no picture, no sound, then turns off. That's all.

On power/deflection board there is 3 capacitors that most of the time is problem cp150-220uf 16v and cp114 cp120 -220uf 35v. if cp150 is bubbled up on top it is bad,so replace other 2 caps in same circuit as well.

Tv WONT STAY ON

When the power light comes on and then goes off perform the self check feature the model you indicated has:

On the front of the press and hold both the MENU and INPUT (DEVICE) BUTTONS both for at least 5 seconds and release both buttons.

The green power light should blink a two digit error code--most common is 2 blinks, a pause and 2 blinks.

Let me know what error code you find and I will tell you what it means.

If this information has helped you rate this solution as I do this here for free.

Remote won't turn tv on. Powers on at tv but won't let me pull up menu. Volume stays the same level. Pressing buttons only makes it blacks out 1 sec. and returns to same picture and volume. New...

Looks like the core of the problem is this:

microswitches on the frontcontrol board leaking.replace it.
http://www.fixya.com/support/t2422987-same_problem What worked for me was this: Supposedly, the front panel is known to have leaky switches. power,volume,menu,etc.. They asked me to take my finger and rub left to right back and forth hitting all the buttons, do this about 20 times.. then poke the reset button in and out a few times.. Wait about 60 to 90 seconds and see if your green light quits flashing.. If so, try powering on with your remote.
