Question about Kitchen Ranges

My oven gets too hot. It doesn't matter what tempurature you set the oven to, it gets as hot as possible and never turns off.

Def sounds like a runnawy thermostat issue, depending on age of uint, may be a bad thermostat. or the newer machines use thermistors, perhaps even a contct welded shut not allowing for proper cycling of temp

Oven overheats. It doesn't matter to the temperature you set it. The oven temperature goes higher.

The first thing to look for is the temperature probe inside the oven. If it is bent and touching the side of the oven, the oven wall will cool the probe, and the oven will always be to hot.

Then next answers depend on the vintage of the oven.
If the oven always runs 20? hot (for example) it is possible to adjust the set point on older ovens by removing the oven temperature setting knob and by using a long thin screw driver through the centre of the shaft to adjust the oven temperature to match the oven setting. You will need to buy or borrow an oven thermometer.

Temperature when using frigidare oven, keeps getting hotter and does not cool down

Good Afternoon Andrea,

I see that you're having issues with your Frigidaire oven, and the heating element being red hot the entire time you were cooking no matter how much you turned the temperature down.

I suggest giving your appliance a hard reset. You will do this by either unplugging it or cutting the power off at the circuit breaker for at least 2-3 minutes. When power is restored to your oven, you will need to set the clock by entering in the time and pressing start. Preheat the oven, to whatever desired temperature, and if it is still running hotter than it should be, I suggest you contact your local authorized technician. I hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

I have an Oster toaster oven 6260. Looks very clean. My son got it at a garage sale. Day 1 worked fine. Day 2 plugged in doesn't go on no matter what knobs are turned. Tried different outlets. ...

It is possible that the controller switch or the trigger is absent so that the coils do not get the power from the mains circuit. it will be best if you can remove the mains plug and start tracing with a multimeter in continuity range( ohms) so that the connection is confirmed.
Once it is found that the switch does not switch on the power or has lost the connection even when it is put to the ON position then you can salvage the swittch from the older toaster to be fixed on.
If the coils have opened it can also be checked with the meter , specially since you have one top element working.
So using the inventory of the two toasters you can get one working.

Radiator fans not working , checked relays and fuses

The ECM turns on the fans when the engine tempurature gets to around 210 degrees. You could have a bad coolant tempurature sensor, not telling the ECM that the engine is hot enough to turn on the fans. I would check to see if the fans come on when the A/C is turned on. Or there is a problem with the ECM. The ECM supplies a ground to the cooling fan relay to turn on the fans.

Gas range oven is not heating to temputere

If the oven is lighting normally the tempurature sensor is probably bad. If the igniter glows but doesn't light the oven then the igniter is faulty and needs replaced. A faulty igniter can still glow but not get hot enough to release gas into the burner tube.

When you say the oven doesn't want to turn on are you referring to the control board wont turn on? Or are you saying that the oven wont heat when it gets too hot?

Oven is not heating to correct tempurature

its not the thermostat most of the time you can look at the element and see if its bad un less a wire is burned off behind or has come off behind the wall of the oven where the element is you can turn off the breaker to the oven off remove the two screws pull the element foward remove one of the wires to the element and check it with an ohm meter to make sure its bad and some ovens have a vari broil feature but most times they just run full bozo consult your owners manuel to see about yours if you dont have a manuel can get one here http://www.frigidaire.com/support/manuals.asp
