Question about Bernina Virtuosa 160
I had to clear bobbin case. I removed the needle, thread and bobbin and took all bobbin casing parts out, including the geared part held by a screw. (Dumb!) Cleaned out the problem. I put back the first part (geared part with the screw) and then the second part and clamped this in place. Tested machine, it ran fine. I inserted bobbin case with thread, needle with tread, and machine jammed. (Well, yeah!) Obviously, the part with the screw needs to be placed correctly. Since the geared piece with the screw can be placed at any point, there has to be a 'key' to alignment. Can you help me? I love my machine. Thanks for your time. Marie
When you have that hook drive gear back out turn the wheel until the needlebar is in its highest position. The bar with the teeth that the gear fits onto should be all the way to the right. Now slide the hook driver gear back on. You can lay the hook back in and slowly turn the wheel. Watch that the point of the hook on its upwards stroke is coming slightly above the eye of the needle. When it does this you will be in the correct position to put the screw back on.
Hope this helps. It may take a couple of tries but you will figure it out.
