Problem with accesing memory card

I have emptied the memory card on lap-top, it shows empty but when placed on camera it shows no more space available. Have tried three memory cards, same thing... followed same procedure to download photos on lap-top. Is there something wrong with camera? how can it be fixed?

After you download pictures you must insert card in camera and format the card. See instructions in book.

1Gb SD Card

You have a hidden trash file on the card, emptying the system trash with the card mounted will also empty the hidden trash file on the card. To prevent this kind of issue and issues of your hidden system files showing up in windows, you can use a clean eject tool such as FinderCleaner www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/16996 to clean off all the hidden system files before ejecting the card, this is not strictly necessary and nor does it cause any harm it just prevents issues associated with these files.

MEMORY CARD SHOWING FULL BUT WHEN CAMERA CONNECTED TO DOWNLOAD TO LAPTOP OR DESKTOP ITS SHOWING FREE SPACE AND USED SPACE BUT NOT SHOWING ANY PICTURES AND VIDEOS,

Save the pictures and videos on the card. Try reformatting the card in the computer, and then again using the camera. The first reformat will ensure the card is empty, and then the camera reformat will ensure that it is recognized by the camera. If the camera reformat will not work, try a new card.

Try doing the following:

  1. Insert the memory on the computer using a memory card reader.
  2. Check the free space of the memory: Right Click on the drive (D: / F: /E)
  3. If it says zero (0) space available but you can't see any file on this try downloading and installing USBshow

When the memory card is in the camera, you see the card contents, not the internal memory. Take the card out, then delete all the photos you can find. The camera needs space on the internal memory to work, even if the memory card is empty.

Sony memory stick PRO duo 4gb card says memory full when empty

I would suggest formating the memory card through the options on your camera. If you reformat the memory card and you still get the same error then you have a bad card. Just like anything else the cards will break down internally over time.

Memory sticks empty and shows no memory available

i have a solution that worked! Notice: save all the needed data on your computer, because Formatting your Memory stick will wipe everything out!
if you have a Sony PSP, or know someone who does, replace the memory stick that says "no memory Space" in to the PSP port, go to "Settings" which is the left-most section of the PSP main screen, then scroll down to "System Settings," select it, Scroll down again to the "Format Memory Stick" selection and press "X" follow on-screen instructions and  SHAZAM!  its ready for action in your camera again!

Memory card appears full but its empty?!

Although formatting the card should take care of that, I have used cards to transfer data from one computer to another, then the folder on the card is invisible to the camera, but still taking up space. Empty the card via the card reader by dragging files to the trash, then emptying the trash.
