Buy new needles! Buy size 10 or 11 Microtex Sharp needles. If this solves the problem, Great! If not, move the needle to the left needle position. This gives it more support and less possibilities of doing what it's doing.

Keep breaking needles. have replaced from smallest to largest needles will work on sample but when quilting it breakes within 3 inches

Could be the machine is out of time. However, be sure that you are not pulling/pushing the fabric through the machine. The feed dogs should be pulling the fabric without assistance. (Is the weight of the fabric hanging over the edge of the table, pulling against the machine? The weight of the fabric should be resting on the table, and to make it easier, create a "puddle" with the fabric around the foot to reduce the amount of weight.) If the machine is having difficulty with the fabric, try using a walking foot. Also, check that the thread is not too large for the needle's eye. Could also possibly need a presser foot pressure adjustment to compensate for the thickness/weight.

Keeps breaking needles

Slow down and watch what you sew over.
No needle is going to sew through the metal part of a zipper.
With many layers of fabric you have to slow down. If you have multiple layers of a thick fabric you may have to resort to using the hand wheel to get through the layers.
Another tip would be to not pull on the fabric. The machine is capable of "feeding" the fabric at the rate it requires. When sewing with many yards of fabric the weight of the fabric may create a pull on the needle. If the needle is pulled so that it no longer goes through the need plate properly it will hit the metal of the needle plate and break. Instead rest your hands on either side of the fabric and gently steer the fabric. Do not pull it out of the back of the machine or shove it into the needle. With large yardages wad up the fabric around the machine so that the weight of the fabric isn't causing strain around the needle.
One other tip. If you have a needle plate in your machine that only supports straight stiching, that is one with a needle hole that is just big enough for the needle to move up and down, and you switch to a zig-zag stitch, you will break the needle. Most factory installed needle plates have a needle hole large enough to support the largest zig-zag that the machine can support. But some machines have custom needle plates (for quilting) that only support a straight stitch.

some sewing machines are self oiling some are not, instruction manual should tell,, when a sewing machine breaks needles it very possible that the machine is out of time & only a sewing machine repair shop has the tools to time the machine

It is a singer quantum futura ce 200 sewing and embroidery machine .the machine sews but incomplete, skipping and missing stiches. does not always bring up bottom thread . grrrrr---help, i want to sew

Sewing machine skips stitches
1.needle inserted incorrectly--flat side of the needle faces the shaft
round needle--groove of needle faces away from the shaft
2.Correct needle insertion is mandatory for proper use.
Raise the needle bar to the highest point, then loosen the clamp screw to remove the needle. Place the new needle in the clamp with the flat side of the needle facing the back of the machine.
If round needle--the groove in the needle faces away from the shaft
Push needle all the way up to the stop or as far as it will go.
3.possible bent needle--lay needle on flat surface & roll needle over, if the needle does not roll good -replace
4.blunt needle point--needle makes a popping sound when needle penetrates the fabric--replace needle
5.needle not all the way up in needle holder--loosen needle clamp screw & push the needle up until it stops then tighten screw
6.incorrect threading--one step missed in sequence of threading can cause machine to skip stitches
7.wrong needle in machine--check instruction manual--some machines can use a generic needle with no problem--some can't--
8.size of needle & thread not compatible--
Using the wrong type needle can cause problems,,
A needle to fine for heavy fabric can bend or break when it hit's the fabric
And a too large needle can make puncture holes in the fabric and pull unevenly while stitching

Cloth does not move . It sews when I pull the cloth myself, but it does not automatically moves the cloth by itself

Make sure your feed dogs are up. Feed dogs are moving metal parts in the needle plate that make the fabric move forward under the presser foot. Open up the shuttle box underneath the needle plate. There is a lever to the right of the the shuttle. Press the lever down and to the left to raise the feed dogs.

Thread loops

Proper set of bobbins and tension set up vs. fabrics will sew you satified. Also incude regular maintenance cleaning of the feeds dogs with a brus, also the shuttle assembly need sometime to clean. Some threads and fabrics chips accumulates in the feed dogs and shuttles assembly. In setting up thread bobbins the thread should be clockwise direction as you pull out on slot coming out to the bobbins (as you shown in my inserted image manual). The loop thread should be propely in the sequence position same like in the image refer to it.If you use cotton/ polyester fabric in the begining of trial set tension dial to No.3 and stich to No. 8 to 12 any convenient to you Use needle No. 14 .Posible make a record if you are sewing different types of fabric mostly silk fabric is hard to sew adjusting to lower stich can posible sew satisfactory.

Needle getes broken

Check to see if your needle plate is gouged or signs that the needle is hitting the plate. If so, you may be pulling a little too hard when the fabric is feeding. Sometimes when you pull too hard, it pulls the needle back and it will hit the plate instead of going into the needle hole and you will break needles. Try just letting the fabric feed itself and you simply guide it to make sure it stays in a straight line.

You need to do a tension assembly test. Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman";} Tension assembly test. To do this test. Pull the thread through the tension assembly and test it to make sure the tension is working correctly.
(To do this test, adjust your tension setting to normal or medium or 5 or something in the middle. Raise the presser foot and pull the thread through the tension. It should pull easily!! Lower the presser foot and pull the thread. It should pull noticeably harder.)
If it doesn’t work this way then you probably have a piece of thread or lint stuck inside the tension discs. To remove it, turn the tension to 0 zero and raise the presser foot.Using a small screwdriver, open the space between the discs and spray with canned or compressed air. The stuff should come out. Do the tension test again to make sure you got everything and then try sewing again.

My xl-5700 the needle keeps breaking or the thread keeps getting all bunched up plus I lost my instruction manual can I gat a new one

About the needle problem, Brother's FAQ gives the following response:

Make sure the needle is correctly inserted with the flat side facing the back and pushed up into the machine as far as possible.

The needle could have been damaged or bent. If so replace with a new one.

Make sure the fabric is not pulled excessively when sewing. Let the feed dogs move the fabric. Do not pull the fabric.

The combination of needle size, thread size and fabric is incorrect.
Be sure to use the correct needle and thread size for the fabric you are sewing.(example: Denim-size 16 needle and 40-50 heavy duty thread).

As for the manual, here's the link:
