Your remote should have come with a sheet of paper with all the codes on it for different TV's, VCR's, , etc.

SOURCE: Universal Remote control code on Sharp 13H-M60

http://www.remotecodelist.com/remotes/magnavox/Philips-Magnavox_PM525S.pdf
This is the user's manual for a Phillips remote control. There is a list of codes in it. They should be rather universal. There's also instructions as to how to program it. I believe that there is a way to program it without using the codes.

Programming with Code Search

1. Manually turn on the device (TV, VCR, etc.) to be controlled.

2. Press and hold Code Search button until the red indicator stays on. Release the Code Search button.

3. Press and release the desired mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blink, then stays lit.

4. Press the Channel Up button repeatedly (up to 300 times) until the device could be controlled changes channel. The red indicator blinks, then stays lit. If you accidentally overshoot the code required, press the Channel Down button to backtrack through the library until the device changes channel. Pressing Channel Up changes direction to forward again. Press and release the Mute button to install the code.

Hope this helps :)

If you have cable or satellite, you will be OK. The converter box is required when using an outside antenna. (rabbit ears). Please rate my response if I was able to help. Thanks

Is this TV digital ready?

No, this TV does not appear to be digital ready.  There is no mention of digital capability in a review in eBay reviews.  You will need a DTV converter or cable box to view digital TV on the this set.

Dont have cable. i bought the analog converter, but read i don't

Digital Ready is not the same as having a digital tuner built in. Yours is probably the former and you do need a converter box: http://www.ezdigitaltv.com/HDTV_vs_HDTV-Ready.html

Sansui tv dtv2784

No this TV is not HD ready. However it is digital (ATSC) ready meaning now that most of the analog brodcasts have stopped it will receive the digital broadcasts so you don't need a converter box. Since it can only display 480i resolution it is not HD ready. You would need a TV that can display 720p or better to be considered HD ready.

Is this set digital ready?

I'm sorry, but this tv is not digital. You might be able to use an inverter that converts 12volts DC to 120volts AC to power a digital converter box.

No sound.

If you have a cable box reset it by unplugging it from power for about 5 seconds. Hope that works.
