Question about Sharp 25R-M100 25" TV

1 Answer

No audio on select channels

I have a 6 year old Sharp 25R-M100 25" TV that doesn't have sound only on select channels (NBC, CBS, History, to name a few). I have a cable box connected to the TV but nothing else. This problem started after a storm a few weeks ago. The cable company doesn't seem to think this is their problem....Any advice?

Go into the TV's menu and see what type of audio mode its set on. If it says sap turn on to stereo or mono. If it says stereo, set to mono. Also try to unplug set for 12 to 24 hours.

I can only guess that the NBC station signal is drifting or weak causing a loss of audio. It is possible the tuning chip inside the TV has a problem with that frequency but not very likly.

It may be that the set is set for alt sound. go to the menu and set the audio to stereo. If the audio is set wrong it thinks you are set for spanish and if the broadcast is not in an alt language there will be no sound.

Might be as simple as you have the SAP or second audio progam turned on, go in to the sound menu of your set and see if it's set to S.A.P if so turn it to Stereo
