Hi -- I can not get to a manual and see no way of opening the battery cover. Could you tell me how?? I would greatly appreciate and will remember not to use the camera. Thanks in advance. Fred firstname.lastname@example.org
First remove the stylus. Then hold the top of the phone (where the camera lens is located, with one hand and the silver bottom of the phone with the other hand. Pull the silver case down about a half inch and then put your fingernail in the opened portion of the phone and pull back to remove the back cover. The battery is right there. Use you fingernail to remove it. Make sure you put the batery back in the same matter as polarity counts.

Hi How yo perform the hard reset? the rear button is just a soft reset. Well, you can open it removing the 6 gray ruber cap covering the bolts in the back cover. Under those caps you ll find 6 star bolt heads covered with a white seals, remove the seal, unscrew the bolts an open the phone inserting in the line your thumb nail or similar tool. you ll find the battery attached with 3 wires. this connect and reconect it.
On the BlackBerry smartphone, the 523 app. error Reset error message appears after pressing the Mute button, accessing an application, or performing a hard reset:
To resolve this issue, first perform a hard reset.
A hard reset involves physically removing the battery from the smartphone and then reinserting it. To perform a hard reset, complete the following steps:
1) Remove the battery cover from the back of the BlackBerry smartphone. 2) Remove the battery, and then reinsert it after a few seconds. 3) Replace the battery cover.
If this does not resolve the issue, the BlackBerry Device Software must be re-installed.
Note: The BlackBerry smartphone will not show a Connected state in the BlackBerry Desktop Manager. Proceed to open and run the application loader tool.
If BlackBerry Desktop Manager cannot connect to the BlackBerry smartphone, perform the following steps:
1. Remove the battery and run loader.exe from
C:\program files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader.
2. Remember to reinsert the battery after the loading operations begin.
I Hope it helped you.
Thank you for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!
I removed the rubber infill that covered a hidden screw. Released screw and then removed back plate. Removing the battery then required care as it is stuck with two sided tape to the Mio internals. Here I used a knive to prise/cut free.
1.Open the back cover and remove the battery. 2. Cut a thick paper in the shape of the bettery slot and place it under the battery. 3.Close the cover after placing the battery. This actually push the PCB to the touchscreen connections.
Had the same problem. Did some research and fixed the problem by performing a "soft reset". Tap the reset indentation on the back once quickly. Do NOT hold it in or you will lose all saved data. Mine's working fine now.
