I can't talk to anyone over xbox live with my steelseries 4xb headset
I recently bought a SteelSeries 4XB headset and a couple of months after buying it I can't talk to my friends over Xbox Live. All the wires are plugged in correctly and when you look at the symbol for talking when on xbox it doesn't move to say i'm talking this therefore means that my friends can't hear me as they don't respond to me
Please reply as i spent around £50 for this headset - Tom

The xbox live gold membership is paid for when you buy it. It never runs out until you have used all of the time you bought. Like say you bought a 12 month subscription it will last you the whole year until the day you bought the last one and activated it. Only time you use money is when you want to buy something from xbox live. All you need is the internet wifi or direct cable works. You can actually use your xbox live account on any xbox. Say if his friend has an xbox and has xbox live he can then use his account on his friends xbox to play online with his friend. You dont have to worry though every time he goes to an xbox he has to recover his xbox live account info so no one else can use it while he is using it. There is also a few new updates to keep his account safe as well when he does want to do something like that. also you can go into family settings and make it so he cant buy anything with out a pass code even put a timer on it with a pass code to limit time of play. So inclosing no you dont have to buy GB it just uses your internet connection and it does cover the cost of play for as long as you bought the subscription. Hope this helps :)
I have the same problem it has happened before and it then worked just fine after, but now no matter what i tried such as re installing the headset i can not hear anybody in my xbox live party or myself, I tried recording a voice message to try and hear myself but nothing. I can however hear the game and can talk. I just can't hear any myself or anybody talking to me.
I just dealt with one of these last month, its a ten minute fix if you have a soldering iron. The wire gets strained inside, they didn't allow enough slack in the wire for the movement of the earpieces. A quick resolder of the broken connection and a dab of hot glue to keep it from moving was all it took. Cost of repair was zero.
Check to make sure that your talkback cable is plugged in tightly. Try unplugging it and then plugging it back in. If you're still having trouble, just contact them at email@example.com and they'll take care of you!
I had the same problem with the exactly same model of steelseries headphones! The only way that I could heare my friends talk was to change the settings in "preferences"-"Voice" and then change the "Voice Output" settings to "Play through Both" and then it worked. But the only problem is that when your friends talk, will the game Volume reduce and the chat volume increase. Hope it help! :)
Theres is a loose wire in your headset most likely. Try plugging it into another controller just to be sure its not the controller. If there is a loose wire there is not much you can do other than buy a new headset.
your headset lasted 3 months. dang thats amazing. the life span of a headset it a week.kidding.if u buy ur headset at bestbuy and it breaks u can take it back and get a new one for free because bestbuy is close with microsoft
I am not certain as to what promotion you stumbled upon. I am 90% certain you are talking about the promotion ran through best buy that gives you free Xbox Live after Halo 3 is released. If you did not purchase from best buy I would put money that this is the same type of promotion.
Unfortunately you will need to have your console set up for Live to take part in this, but the good news is all you need is an ethernet cable or wireless set up. Here is the link on how to set up for Live: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/live/howto101.htm http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support/connecttolive/xbox360/default.htm
I would take advantage of this free trial to see if you actually enjoy the Live experience. I personally do, but a couple of my friends prefer to play those they can actually see in the room. If you want to take full advantage you might want to try the free one month promotion which is talked about in a right column ad placement on the above mentioned links.
well, you might have to go to family settings and change some things in there.
Go to privacy an friends and there is voice and textt and stuff.
make sure it is set to everyone and you shuld be to talk to everybody from then on..
if that is your problem.
