Question about RCA VR652HF VCR

Open Question

RCA VCR VR652HF

My vr652hf will not eject a tape. This happened before, and I went to an electronics store where the tape was removed (destroyed). All was fine for quite a while, but it just happened again. The tape will play and record, but not eject. Any ideas? Also, I'm in the Washington DC area. Any suggestions for a repair shop or where to buy a refurbished 652? I really love the feature that automatically marks and skips commercials. Also, do you know of another model that has the same feature? I'm not talking about the 30 second skip button. As you can probably tell, I know zip about electronics, Thanks for any help.

SOURCE: Tape plays for a while then stops...

play it till it stops when it ejects see if you can spin the wheel with your finger or if it feels like it is hung up try a different tape se if the problem goes away if it does not go away sounds like you need to get the heads cleaned or get a new VCR or better yet get a dvd player/recorder you can get one with a dvd/vcr and record your vhs on to DVDs

How do i stop my vcr from destroying tapes?

What is probably happening is the take up reel is slipping or it could be a belt that moves the feed reel in reverse when you eject the tape. You might want to first put the VCR into rewind and see if it takes up the tape. If not then the belt is most probably the problem, or the rubber on the take up reel has glazed over and it is slipping.

I have fixed many of these and most all of the time it is that wheel or a bad or streached or glazed belt.

Good luck,

Marty

VHS tape is stuck in the machine. How do I remove it?

This is often a frustrating problem but if you feel you can handle it go ahead with the following, otherwise get professional electronics help. If you have tried to eject the tape and tried other obvious ways to extract the tape and nothing has worked then you can remove the top cover and manually remove the tape. It is not that hard to do most of the time. First unplug the power cord from the wall outlet. You do not want to get a short or get shocked or zapped. Just unscrew the screws holding the cover in place and set the cover aside. Look at the tape to see where it is hung up. If you need to push the tape around so you get it off the posts or otherwise free up the tape, then gently do so until you free the tape from the tape transport. Sometimes this is all you need to do to extract the tape. You may be able to push out the tape from the VCR at this point. If you can get all the magnetic video tape back into the cassette but the tape simply will not come out then place the cover back onto the VCR, plug the VCR into the wall outlet, power on and try to eject the tape now. Sometimes this works. If all else fails, take the VCR into a electronics repair shop and have them remove the tape for you. They may tell you the VCR needs repairs also so this does not happen again.

I've had this RCA VCR model # VR652HF for about 10 to 12 years but one day it just stopped working as it was. All it does now is if you turn it on it says hello, then ejecting then turns off after 5- 10...

Good day
It sounds to me like that 1 or more of the drive belts has lost it's tension..(meaning it's time for new belts).
Another thing,..some models have a wee light bulb inside that is involved with the loading drawer..it senses that the tape has loaded properly, ..(continue towards "play tape".)
If it has burned out,..the machine cannot "see" that the tape is/is not in place,.."shuts down".

Best bet to send to a repair tech for service. Have a "belt&tire kit" plus the bulb replaced...& check over the loading drawer...(a trouble area also).

Need frot LED panel for VR652HF VCR. Where can I find one and at what cost??

Hello,

You might try contacting Parts Express and MCM Electronics as possible sources for replacements. Otherwise, keep an eye on the electronics parts of auctions for a 'parts only' donor VCR.

Aiwa HV-MX1: tape won't eject from VCR and it switches off.

Turn over the VCR. Unscrew the base. You will see the 3 belts. Turn the rightmost belt clockwise or anticlockwise (don't remember) but you will see the tape hold mechanism moving down. Once it is all the way down, you can eject the tape out.

You may need to replace one or all 3 belts. This is being caused by belts being loose.

hope this helps.

I have a Sylvania 6240VE vcr. When I try to rewind a recorded tape, the vcr ejects the video. I was wanting to purchase a dvd/vcr combo, but the reviews for these items are awful. I tried a Magnavox combo....

When you put the player into rewind, is it at the beginning of the tape that it ejects? If so, it may be because you have the machine in timer mode. If you have a pre-recorded tape in a VCR, it will automatically eject the tape because you`ve not to record on a pre-recorded tape. I hope this help, Ian

Tape keeps getting ejected

This unit requires the rubber parts to be replaced. The loading sequence is not completing properly. The VCR will eject the tape when the sequence fails as a safety measure to prevent damage to either the VCR or the tape.

Parts cost for this should not be more than $10.
