You need to reload that software that came with the keyboard. Uninstall the keyboard from device manager :- Control Panel>system>device manager. Then reload the software for the keyboard, which should also have the drivers. If you do not have the software, let me know the make and model of the keyboard and I will see what I can do.

Hope this helps

Keyboards can have various functions for each key that are enabled by first pressing a modifier key. Some keyboards may have an Fn key that stands for 'Function' that are identified by a bluish-purple color.

You would have to hold down the Fn key before being able to use the corresponding function.

Other keys may have items that can only be used once you press the NmLk (Number Lock) key. Usually you only have to press the NmLk key once to enable these alternate functions and then press it again to disable.

Im having trouble figuring out how to use the fn key on my keyboard

Just like a shift key selects the upper case character for a key, the fn key selects whatever is printed on the other keys in the same color used for the letters "fn." You would hold down the fn key, then press the key labeled with the desired secondary function, and let go of both keys.

To disable or enable the Fn-functions, try locating them in BIOS using this guide.

Otherwise, try hitting these key-combos, pressing the keys down exactly at once:
Dell = Fn + F4
Compaq = Fn + ScrLk
Lenovo = FN + Num Lock
IBM Thinkpad - Shift + Scroll Lock Num

Others:
Fn + F11
Ctrl + F11
Fn + Num Lock
Fn + Shift + Num Lock
