I BOUGHT A REPLACEMENT CARTRIDGE FROM A COMPANY THAT REMANUFACTURES THEM THRU XEROX,ANYWAY THE INK TONER CARTRIDGE IS FOR YOUR Z-85II COPIER AND THE INK WAS EVERYWHERE WHEN I TOOK IT OUT OF THE PACKAGE AND BECAME AN EVEN BIGGER MESS ONCE I INSERTED IT INTO THE COPIER. CAN I TRY THE COPIER OUT WITH THIS MESS OR DO I NEED TO GET IT CLEANED OUT BY A PROFESSIONAL? ALSO I REMEMBER THAT THE ORIGINAL CARTRIDGES FROM SHARP HAD A SEAL OF FILM THAT IS PULLED AWAY AS IT IS BEING INSERTED INTO THE COPIER OR AM I WRONG? THE COMPANY I BOUGHT THESE CARTRIDGES FROM SAYS THAT THERE IS NO SUCH FILM OR PULL AWAY SEAL ON THESE CARTRIDGES!

You are right about the cartridges having a seal. These toner remanufacturing companies are known as TONER PIRATES, they don't change the drum or cleaning blade, they just dump in toner.

Try wiping the inside with STRETCH AND DUST cloths before you put the new cartridge in.

If that doesn't work, I have to recommend that you get it cleaned, as the spilled toner will blow straight through a regular vacuum.

Can Xerox DocuColor 3535 toner ink be used in Xerox WorkCentre 7228?


From experience, I wouldn't do it...
The different series usually have slightly different toner composition, so you may find that your copier will be majorly over-toned or under-toned. by doing that.
I personally wouldn't risk it, and I have been in the industry 24 years...

Do the reset chips really work on the cartridges of HP 2500N laserjet printer


Yes, reset chips really work on laser printer cartridges, if you have a know good source for the chips and if you know what your doing, you can't put a new chip on an old cartridge, the chip is what registeres how may prints you will get out of the cartridge if you put a new chip on an old or 1/2 empty cartridge of course it will say it's full but then try and print.It will register as a full cartridge but it can only print with the amount of toner that is actually left in the cartridge, be careful there are alot of remanufactures out there that don't put new chips on or that do but don't fill the cartridge full, or replace all the wipers and drums, they just dump some toner in and say here you go, Only buy your remanufactured cartridges from a reputable company, do your research on them first or you'll be sorry

The spec sheet has the toner cartridge and drum cartridge part numbers (listed as Supplies)

Toner Cartridge 6R914;
Drum Cartridge 13R551

When copier has printed about 18,000 pages the J2 drum cartridge light will come on. The unit will print about another 1,000 pages before the unit stops working until the drum cartridge is replaced.

I am using the workcentre and it says toner supply failed


You wont find any tape on the cartridge. There is none. That is an improper message. It is possible the ink cartridge will solve it, but it is more likely that one of the springs located in the copier where the back of the toner cartridge inserts is bent and not making proper contact with the toner cartridge. I have seen that cause that very problem several times.
Because you are receiving that message about the tape. That strongly suggests that you need to have the machine firmware updated to the current version. Sound like the machine you have has an older version of the machine firmware.

Press,,,,, Menu #1934 . What you may want to try first is to do what is called the Shading adjustment. That calibrates the scanner.
It would be found in the maintenance menu after you enter diagnostics.
You must place 5 pieces of white paper on the glass before you perform the adjustment.
There really is no way to increase the amount of toner concentration on that machine. You may very well have a defective ink cartridge. That is not uncommon on the C20. There is a metering blade in the toner cartridge that often times does not allow enough ink to be applied to the toner roller.

No toner light is on


Have you simply tried shaking it front to back vigorously? If you have and I am assuming you did that. take it out, and on the top of the cartridge you will see a clear round window. Take either some black tape, or a small piece of paper and tape over it and see what happens. How that machine determines if there is or is not ink in the cartridge is by a sensor that looks throught that window for toner.
If you block it and it still says out of toner, then your sensor is bad.

The metering blades in those cartridges go bad and do not allow the ink to get to the page. Look at the front of the toner cartridge, is should be a solid consistent black all the way across, if its streaky, not consistent all the way across replace the toner.
The other problem could be a dirty laser. If replacing the toner doesnt work let me know, I will tell you how to remove and clean the laser.

J1 Error, Changed a brand new factory-sealed toner, still getting J1 Error


Make sure you have the right code: J1 or J2.
one is for the drum and the other is for the ink.
Make sure the toner unit is for this model and not for a different model.
If the old modual is still available, check the connectors at the back and see if they are the same.
If anything else Call Xerox for repair. If the cartridge was bought through Xerox have your reciete available for warrenty.
If repairs still need to be made, A Xerox service call may be needed in order to fully repair the copier and warrenty the cartridge.

that is the message for low or out of toner. What you are doing by tapping it is just lostening the reemaining ink in the cartridge. If the cartridge is new, have it replaced where ever you purchased it because most likely its defective.
