Question about Computers & Internet
Hi. I just bought a laptop 5 days ago. Since the last two days I have noticed that when I boot my laptop, just after the Windows logo comes, a black screen appears and for like 3 seconds these several lines of white/red/green appears after which the welcome screen appears and everything works fine from that point on. This only happens when booting the laptop and not when shutting it down and only covers the middle and lower portions of the monitor. When I called the shop from where I purchased the laptop they say that it could be because the laptop is preparing to read the graphics card. I don't know if I should believe him. Every thing else besides that first few seconds works just fine. Can anyone advise me how I should go about solving this problem. Please help. Thank you.

You say you replaced the graphics card?
Either way, this is one of two things. Hardware (a faulty display card) or drivers. If it is an old card, or you did a driver update recently, go to your device manager, and roll back to your previous drivers. if this doesn't solve the problem I recommend getting the latest drivers for your display card, installing them and seeing what happens.
Hope this solves your problem!

The issue appears to be cosmetic if the system boots to WIndows and there are no display issues using the system. Some systems I've seen have a bit of video distortion between the BIOS splash screen and the desktop. A couple things may change that. Update the system BIOS and the video driver to the most current available

This must surely be a problem with your monitor, because you say that you see the white screen while boot up. If this is a graphic driver issue, you may have the problem after booting up in windows. Since its been only a month old laptop, the product must be in warranty for sure. Take away any CDs in the drive, any USB drives and see if this white screen appears. Let us know.

Upon loading press F2 or del to enter bios setup and change the settings to display the acer welcome screen and the one you said about Microsoft logo and white box with green lines, you cant by pass it because it's windows loading screen
