The button is shorted, unsolder the button and take it out. you can use the remote to use the menu if you want, you can also buy a new switch from radio shack.

hi,
Check is the remote transmits signals for menu at any time.
to check this after clearing the menu remove the battery of the remote. if the menu didn't po pup again , the remote need cleaning .
If the menu pop up again then, you have to check the menu button (push button) on your projector.
ok

Are you holding the menu button down when the monitor is off or on? Are you keeping the menu button held down when you push the power button to turn it on?

Menu keeps popping up on screen on 52 r5wh73

This sounds like the front panel assembly(FPA) switches are acting up. What happens with this model is the FPA switches start to conduct just as if someone was pressing the buttons. This in effect locks up the system control or causes it to do erratic things.
The way to determine if the FPA is bad is to remove it by unplugging from set. This requires front panel disasembly. Note:The remote will still work with the FPA removed so the set can be tested.
Also double check that the remote is not the problem by removing it from the room or removing the batteries
Let me know if you need more help or info.

Monitor will not turn off and keeps flashing the words Auto processing

it is not a bad rom. if it was a rom it would constantly act up but it only acts up upon overheating. The solution is difficult but if you open the monitor you can find all of the heatsinks take them of and replace them with bigger ones. or have a fan blowing on it at all time it is active i added bigger heatsinks to my emachine le1799 and it solved this problem of pulling up menu and changing setting by itself and the lack of the ability to turn power of.

Menu pop ups

Try this:

Under the menu options, there's Menu Lock. Switch it to "On". It worked for me.
My menu button wasn't working, so to access the menu, I had to hold down the arrow up button and push the arrow down button till I got to the Menu Lock Option.
