I noticed the child lock flashing but I wasn't using the dishwasher at the time. Maybe one of us leaned on it or something. Anyway, now it won't turn off. I tried holding the energy saver dry button for 4 seconds as directed in the user manual but that still didn't make it stop flashing. Now the dishwasher won't run. Any other ideas on what to do? Does it sound like I need a professional repairman?
I had similar child lock flashing problem a year or so ago. I can't remember how I fixed it then but we have it again. Energy Saving button doesn't clear the problem. I've flipped the circuit breaker and reset but now I'm leaving the breaker off for a longer period
I got the same problem that started 2 days ago. Holding the Energy Saver Button for the 4 seconds does nothing. The dishwasher does not operate and the light flashes continuously when the door is closed. If I press the cancel button, both the Child Lock and Cancel button lights flash in unison. Did anyone find a solution to this problem?

?When activated all the buttons will be disabled and a child will not be
able to alter any wash programme or option settings. Once selected
this feature remains activated, even when the machine is 'off'.
To use this feature press the 'Child Lock' button and hold down for 2
seconds. The child safe icon will begin to flash. When the icon stops flashing
the feature is activated. If any of the control buttons are pressed, the child
safe icon will flash and the machine will bleep 3 times: no alterations to the
control settings will be allowed. If power is interrupted, at any time, pressing
any button will reactivate the child lock feature.
To deactivate this feature hold the 'Child Lock' button down for 4
seconds. You will then hear a bleep and the child safe icon will go out
Hello. Your Kitchenaid unit has the child-lock enabled. Look for a button(or set of buttons) that has a small lock symbol beneath or the word "lock". On most models, you have to push and hold the button(s) until the lock light goes out(usually about 3-5 seconds). That should disable the lock and the unit should operate normally. I hope this helps you!
im not sure if your model of dryer but here is some instructions Child lock When activated, the child lock prevents the dryer from being operated by locking the control panel functions. The dryer can be turned on but not started. The "Child lock" indicator will flash. The door can be opened. To activate the child lock 1. Make sure the dryer is turned off and the door is closed. 2. Press and hold the "Anti-crease" and "DRYNESS" buttons at the same time, hold until step 5. 3. Turn on the dryer with the "On/Off" button. 4. Press the "OPTIONS" button 3 times. 5. Release the "Anti-crease" and "DRYNESS" buttons. The "Child lock" indicator will flash and the dryer is now locked. 6. Turn off the dryer using the "On/Off" button. To deactivate the child lock Repeat steps 1. to 5. The "Child lock" indicator will go out. The control panel is now unlocked. 6. Turn off the dryer using the "On/Off" button.
I believe the CL you are getting means "Child Lock". Under normal circumstances there should be no activity at all on your machine.
Please do the following: - On the Facial Panel (Where the buttons are located), look for 2 buttons marked together with a line, it should also have a face of a child somewhere on that line. - Press both these buttons together for 3 - 5 seconds, this should reset the Child Lock.
Kind Regards :-)

Without knowing the manufacturer and model number, it is impossible to be specific. But most dishwashers that have a control lock light means that you have a child safety feature on the dishwasher. If you look closely, you may see some symbol that ties two buttons together and maybe if you press both at the same time, the child lock out may turn off.
Post info about the make and model here to get more specific.
