Toshiba Projector TLP 651 lamp problem

The bulb went out on my projector. I got a new one installed it and it comes on briefly and then the lamp light turns red and lamp goes off. How do you reset the lamp hours? Could this be the problem?

Yes resetting the lamp hour might be the issue but not necessarily. It could also be a temperature issue as the fan (s) might have stopped or a temp sensor issue is faulty. check your manual for resetting lamp hours. Regards Kevin Andreassend www.iceav.co.nz iceavtech@gmail.com

to release the key lock, set the [Key Lock] to [Off] using remote control. Pressing the [RETURN] button on the projector for 10 seconds also sets the [Key Lock] to [Off]

Showing to of the same thing twice and colors

The projector has one or more "burnt" polarizers, more than likely.

They are replaceable, but expensive if you buy them from the manufacturer.

Look on Google for "burnt polarizer".

It's not the easiest job, but at least they're replaceable.

Bulb Replacement

the bulb hot indication has nothing to do with the lamp counter.u would have reset the counter as suggetsed by the manufacturer,
this problem is because of the following:
1) wrong bulb
2) cooling fans not working adequately
3) defective ballast
check the above for a solution
