Question about BBE Maxcom Dual Compressor

Open Question

I have a BBE Maxcom with which I play bass. I want to add a effects pedal in the chain. I want to compress BEFORE the Effects and use the Sonic Maximizer after the effects. How do I wire it?

I have a Hartke LH1000 Bass Amp and a BBE Maxcom Gate/Compressor/Sonic Maximizer. I want to include a effects pedal. I want the effects pedal to be in the chain AFTER the Gate/Compressor. But I want the effects pedal to be BEFORE the sonic maximizer. How can I do this? Can I use both channels of the Maxcom in one chain?

SOURCE: Audible hum on outputs on any gain level above

Make sure you use BALANCED cables everywhere. This means using XLR and TRS cables.

I have a gallien kreuger backline 600 bass amp head . and I'm wondering how to use the effects loop send and return jacks with a pedal or processor ?

Run a cable from the Send to the effects and a cable from the effects to the Return. This would be in place of running a cable from the bass guitar to the effects to the amp input.

I tried to plug in a digitech bp200 pedal and then my amp went on the fritz and starterd buzzing loudly. I attempted using the effects loop section on the back of the amp with my bass direct into the amp,...

DO NOT try a guitar pedal as an effects insert via the back jacks... they are for an external line level EQ/Effects type unit. Your guitar pedal should NOT have caused any damage. Check the power adapter you are using with the BP200. The BP200 takes a 9 VAC adapter, NOT a 9VDC type common to most pedals. You cannot use one of the Pedal Train type supplies with the BP200. Also check that you have the in's and out's correct on the pedal... backwards and they will cause what you are observing.. Verify your cables are good. The output of the pedal goes in the FRONT jacks of the amp. ONLY line level drives go to the back jacks.

Have BBE Acousimax pre-amp. Clip light is on and will not turn off. I have not power through the unit but power source seems ok. Fuse problem?

This device, unlike most guitar pedals, requires a 12 volt power supply. Are you sure yours is the original? If the supply is low, the internal electronics will show clipping. Make sure you are using the original power supply and if so, check the voltage it is producing.

Fulltone Clyde Deluxe wah distorts and interferes with other pedals, along with a narrow pedal range for the effect, though the pedal has a full sweep. I have gotten no answer from Fulltone on the...

The best way to understand the problem source is to minimize the components. In this case, try the pedal alone first. You need to determine whether or not the pedal is causing the distortion. With the pedal alone, how does the system sound/work? Is it acceptable and performing as expected? If so, then the next step is to add one more effect in the chain. Try the effect BEFORE the Fulltone first. Does the distortion appear? If so, then the problem is likely in the input stage of the Fulltone. It should be able to handle mic level inputs. The effects you are using should be outputing the same level as well. If you are unsure of the output signal levels of the effects, set the guitar to a fixed level and insert one effect at a time. The overall signal level should be similar for each one at the "unity gain" setting.

Please try a few options as suggested above one at a time and report the results here inas much detail as you can. This should help to resolve the problem.

A lot of pedals when on bypass actually just connect the signal straight through... WHILE when using the effect, the volume control parameter is active. You need to balance the effect volume control against the straight through level which you have no control over.

Setting up a Behringer PMP5000

You can do the effect via the "POWER AMP INSERT" jacks.

Use TRS interconnects to yout effects unit.

If the effects unit does not have TRS type bi-directional in/out ports, you MAY need to make special cables to connect the units. Refer to figure 4.5 on page 9 of your PMP5000 user manual for INSERT connections.

Where should the Zoom G1X go in a pedal chain?

From an electrical engineering standpoint, an expression or volume pedal should be near the end of the chain so that the other effects don't try to process very weak signals when the volume is very low.

This gives better signal to noise ratio.

How to set up foot switch in order

Personally I recommend the following set up:

Distortion>Effects>Compression/Noisegates/Sustain

This will ensure that the signal won't have any odd hiccups due to an odd pedal setup. But if you play around with different orders, you can end up with some very interested sounds.
