Camera cuts off when I take a picture

I have 2 problems but the main one is that everytime a click a picture, the camera cuts off. I have changed the batteries, cleaned the battery contacts and it still happens. The second problem says card is not initialized. I have formated the xd picture card in the camera, cleaned the card. The main problem is the camera cutting off when I snap a picture. Any suggestions are appreciated.

When i click a picture it takes lot of time 2 save the picture even if the card is not full.. like e.g i click the birthday blowing of candle i cannot instantly take picture of the cutting of the cake....

It is possible that the memory card is full, with little space for storage. Also it can have errors if the card was not cleared or formated.
So ideally it will be best to remove the card and use an adaptor to load into your PC, open and copy all the image files to a selected marked folder . Now after the images are saved you can scan the mamory card check the properties. Now you can get an idea of the card but it is best to have the card FORMATTED. This will wipe the memory clean and make it work faster on the camera. If not the camera processor has some errors.

I couldnt able to copy from my sony camera to my pc

RE not being able to USB function on Sony Cyber Shot camera connecting it to TV....solution was to change USB Mode on camera from PTP to AUTO.
Turn on camera, press home button. Click to Main Settings 1 and then use down arrows to go to Main Settings 2. Highlight USB MODE PTP, and use right arrow to change setting to AUTO, and press Home button to exit.

Everytime i try to take a picture it says card error

Hi, try to format your SD Card on your camera (backup pictures first).
If you can't then try to format on your PC. To format on your pC do the following steps:
1) insert your SD card
2) right click the SD Card Drive (make sure you select the correct one) choosing the wrong
drive would cause BIG problems for you. If you don't know which drive it is Do Not Continue
3) Select Format.

If you PC doesn't format properly or has a problem with the card then you know the problem
is the card and not your camera. Make sure also that the SD Card is not Locked.

Everytime my daughter takes pictures they don't save,. Everytime she turns the camera off she loses her previous pictures.

First try to recover any images you want to keep with a program like the one you can download here, which is free:-

Then try to format the card or memory, either by:-

1.) Format the internal memory or memory card by using the menus in the camera, such as:- Review menu, Setup> Format

or if if that fails and you are using a card:-

2.) Format by inserting the card into the PC or using a card reader.
Then right click on the memory card's icon in the 'My Computer' window to bring up the format option, then format the card again in the camera itself to ensure compatibility.

Everytime i take a picture on my samsung tl220, it shows up as "No image file"

Hi Digital cameras have brought more fun to photography than anything since the first Polaroid, but there's a little more to making them work than point and click. Short of dropping the cameramag-glass_10x10.gif into a lake, though, most of the problems you'll encounter have simple fixes.
Taking Pictures
  • Step 1If the image quality is poor, check the lens to make sure it's clean (see How to Remove Fingerprints From a Camera Lens). Learn how to focus or pre-focus your model of camera. Check the manual to see what resolutions your camera supports and make sure you know which one is selected. Higher resolutions give better pictures but take up more digital space. If using flash, make sure you're close enough to the subject.Sharpen photos on computer after downloading (see How to Get Top-Notch Scans).Step 2.Having problems locating the pictures you took? Look for playback or review mode on the camera to view pictures on your camera. Use the arrow buttons to scroll through pictures. Make sure the battery is attached properly and that the camera is powered, to confirm pictures were actually taken.

I can't use macro on my sony cybershot digicam

I have a Sony W120 and had the same macro problem, tried all the "solutions" mentioned here without result. So I pressed the "Home" button, went to "Settings" (last menu item at right), then "Main Settings", and used the "Initialize" functio. Problem solved !

Can't download pictures from camera to computer

I expect that somewhere down the line the camera was plugged in and the message was ignored, and told to never show this again. Assuming you are using windows you can do one of two things:
1). Click start button, computer, and look at the devices with removable storage. Hopefully your camera is there. If not we have another problem. you can then browse the camera just like any other disk with folders, find your photos and copy/cut/move them into your pictures folder.

2). We can change the settings of your computer so that it will prompt you what to do each time the camera is plugged in.
In order to do this open control panel, select classic view on the left side. Click on default programs icon, and select change auto play settings. Scrolling to the bottom should show devices connected to the computer. you can then use the pull down box beside the cameras name to set what you want to do each time it is plugged in.

Hope this helps. If I am way off base here please let me know.
