Use F8 to start in safe mode and run msconfig
diable all start up items and all go to services and hide ms services then disable all others.
If you cannot get the machine to safe mode
reset the bios and swap the ram chips or just leave one in

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

My computer is taking a long time to shut down

push buttons at same time: Alt, Ctrl and Delete to bring up five item menu. Choose the last one "Start Task Manager".
Choose tab "Processes". Chose "show processes from all users. Click on CPU twice to order the processes from highest to lowest. System idle should be close to 99%. If there is a process that is taking up significant resources, then that is your problem.

Reboots like this are sometimes related to overheating. Make sure all fans are working.

Won't boot screen black

A black screen on startup can be so many things! I have learned this lesson the hard way. Never turn off the computer when it is half way through the boot procedure. Even when it is taking forever, or having a major problem you must let it run through if possible. Interrupting it once may be ok, but twice or three times is a no no. After you have carelessly restarted and shutdown a few times the black screen may appear. But this time it may be beyond repair for the average computer user. http://tips4pc.com/articles/computer%20troubleshooting/how_to_repair_a_damaged_boot_sec.htm

Help please - Asus IS7 board, downloaded a chipset driver - should'nt have, since then computer starts, might go through to windows, might not, then computer goes to what seems to be half power, fans...

Restart your computer.
Press F8 repeatedly until the Windows "boot menu" (black-and-white) is visible.
Select "Safe Mode".
Click Start
Click Control Panel
Click Classic View
Click System
Click Hardware
Click Device Manager
Expand each branch of the hardware-tree, and remove all the components installed by that "chipset-driver".
Keep doing them all, and then restart your computer.
Windows should re-detect your hardware, and load the correct drivers.

If that fails:
Restart your computer.
Press F8 repeatedly until the Windows "boot menu" (black-and-white) is visible.
Select "Safe Mode".
Click Start and navigate to "System Restore".
Choose a check-point dated at a date/time before your screw-up.
Choose "restore" to that date/time.
Follow the on-screen directions.

Fujitsu esprimo v5535 boot up and keyboard failure

Try Safe Mode. Press F8 key during bootup and you will be presented with a black screen with multiple choices. Select "Safe Mode". This will load Windows with minimal drivers and with admin login option. If you can log in as administrator then create a new account in the Control Panel. Restart the computer and shut down. If it shuts down correctly then you are half way there, windows OS is not to badly corrupted. Boot up and if it comes up normally select the new profile you created.

If this does not work, then you will have to repair the system files, for which you will need a OS CD or restore disk.

Computer will not shut down

You can try the Ctl-Alt Del keys to see if you can get the task manager to come up. If you can then try to shut down using that. If not then the only choice you really have is to manually power down and restart. Chances are pretty good Windows will clean up after itself and should boot backup. During the process if you receive any error messages or warnings document them. Windows may also prompt you for a hard drive scan, let it.
