I recently bought a new

I recently bought a new ipod classic 120 gig ipod.i have found the port on the bottom of the ipod to be a bit problematic.I have an itrp and sometimes the itrip will work and other times it wont. Also the first time the battery went flat i couldnt charge it up,and it wasnt registering on my itunes site.This is the second one in ten days,i think there is a fault on the ports on these things! Is this a common problem that you have heard of?
