Tone arm doesn't return to full resting position, when beginning to "play" it begins about an 1/8th inch too far into the album, and when the album is finished, the tone arm won't return.

The adjustment for auto return position is normally at the tone arm base on the left side under a rubber grommet. Use a flat blade screw driver to move adjustment screw, then test. Keep fine tuning until arm lifts at desired position. Cheers John. Stylus City NZ
The service manual shows the adjustment for the tone arm set down position is accessed from the top of the unit. It is in front and to the right of the pivot point of the tone arm. The other problem is something that I can not diagnose here but I am providing a link to the service manual. You will have to set up a free account with vinyle engine. The service manual is a free download.
i recently bought one with the same issue. it has nothing to do with a turntable belt as the list of useless suggestions state below. you must remove the lid (when open, it should slide out by lifting directly upward), then you remove the rubber mat and metal plate. there you will see a plastic cover held on by 5 or 6 small screws...remove those and the cover. this cover exposes the opening that your tone arm will have to be above to remove the entire plastic shell that houses the entire inner workings. So, with the power ON...use the << button to move the tone arm over the opening (you may want to give a gentle push to the mechanism to guide it along). Once it's over the opening, you can begin to remove the entire cover. there are three screws on the top side of the unit (way down in three holes that were under the platter), then there are a number of screws on the bottom of the unit around the outter edge and one near the center. With those screws taken out, the cover should be able to be removed. Inside the unit, on the left (all the way to the back) is your small motor that spins a small black belt that turns the gears that pull the tiny steel cable attached to your tone arm assembly. On my turntable, this belt had sat so long that it had conformed into an oblong shape and wouldn't spin properly around the two wheels/pulleys. Make sure that you still have a belt there. If not, search the global interweb for one...$5-15 maybe?! I was able to remove my belt, cleaned it up a bit with soap and water (made it slightly pliable and tacky enough not to spin on the pulley/wheels), then put it back on AND........it works now. Hope this helps?!?!
Hi Daniel, its a bit of a long shot however try this. With the turntable powered of manually rotate the platter approx 12 times to reset the auto operation back to default. John styluscity.com
Hi, Try this. with it turned off. Lift tone arm across a record to the run out groove and set it down. Now power up and hopefully it will reset itself. In all honesty I would sell it and get a decent old school player. John. Styluscity.com
Hi, I;m not familiar with that exact model however the problem you are describing is commonly caused by the automatic operation at some point not being allowed to complete its full operation. Ie the tonearm has been returned manually to its rest position before reaching the end of the record. Try this. With the player not powered up lift the tonearm across to the record run off groove and sit it there. You may feel some resistance which is normal as the mech has to eswt itself. Now turn on the power and turntable. The arm should automatically return from there to its rest. Try auto operation after that. Let me know how you go. Cheers John. [email protected]
It seems like you need to adjust the pitch control. Try looking at the platter strobe light and seeing if it is at the correct speed. If not adjust the pitch control until you can see the dots align. As for the not returning, your automatic motor may be busted.
i also have the same problem, im sure its something to do with the tone arm, like at the start of playing a 12'inch you have to hold the arm at the end of the vinyl for 5 seconds, have i answered my own question, i'll let u know ......
