1 Answer

In Focus IN 72 no image I was watching a movie and all the suden my projector went down. I am not sure if it is the bulb since the bulb has less than 500 hours on it. There is small dimmed light coming out of the projector now. Should I try replacing the bulb or do you have any ideas before i spend 300 bucks??? THanks!

I have an infocus x3 projector and while watching a movie i heard a loud pop and the video went out. It sounds like glass moving around inside the projector. its fairly new and in a well vented room. Is it...

yes try to check the bulb if broken but when you replace the bulb be sure not to touch the glass surrounding because if accidentally touch the glass their will be a mark appearing on the screen.

There is a lens(looks like a small magnifying glass) made out of plastic that the light shines through to focus the light on the mirror before it hits the DLP chip, that lens is Melted in the center. I unfortunately had the same thing happen to me, and I am unable to find a replacement part.

I have an Mitsubishi X490U Multimedia Projector - it hangs inverted in our church auditorium. The image on the screen looks okay with bright images projected, but dark images appear to look green...

This unit needs a new Optical block, most likely more than a new projector

check out projectorsuperstore.com for a replacement

by the way, your $10,000 projector only has 2600 lumens, a new/refurbished unit will have 4000 lumens for less than 25% of the cost of your unit

Projector image burn (retention)

first off, make sure you got the right lamp and it's from sharp, not a "lamp store". the quality varies. it could be burning hotter than it's designed for. second, you may need to reset the setting to factory default (through the menu options). third, you may need flash upgrade. you'll need to contact a sharp service center for that.

My son wants to use a projector along with PS3 stand alone, for both gaming and movies. the projector would therefore require inbuilt speakers or connectors to external speakers. Any suggestions best...

if he is spends a lot of time gaming, i am not so sure a projector is the best bet. all projectors use bulbs, that have a certain life-span. ( the infocus i have is about 3,000-4000 hours) that might seem like a lot. but if he starts to use it for movies and tv, it can add up fast.  to replace a bulb, it costs about $350 - $400 .  most projectors need a dark room to look their best. if the room that he uses his system is well lit, the image will be "washed out".  the high end "hi-def" projectors are costly, and personally i would not want an small expensive piece of electronics around a bunch of hyped up teens.  his gaming experience would be the same (or in some cases better)  with lets say a 32" LCD  720p in a dark room but sitting more closer to the set than normal, and now there are some great buys, much less than you would spend for a projector. ( dont forget, with a projector, you  also need a screen)
