Question about Chamberlain 1/2-HP Whisper Drive Belt Drive Garage Access System
When I press the button on my garage door remote, the opener makes a sound as if the motor is running, but the belt doesn't move. I disengaged the opener by pulling on the red handle and my garage door opens and closes just fine. Inside the gdo, It sounds like a motor is running as it should, but does not seem to be engaging the belt. The belt appears taut and not loose. Suggestions??

I just had that problem this morning and the cause was that the springs that help hold the weight of the garage door were broken. This caused the garage door opener to raise the garage door a fe inches and then drop again. We called in a professional and $200 later we had new springs and everything works fine now.

SOURCE: door would not close all the way
DOES IT REVERSE OR STOPS BUT NOT TOUCHING THE FLOOR?
IF IT DOESN'T TOUCH THE FLOOR YOU EITHER NEED TO ADJUST THE DOWN TRAVEL OR LENGTHEN THE CONNECTING ARM.
IF IT REVERSES YOU NEED TO DETERMINE IF IT IS THE SENSITIVITY OR THE SAFETY EYES.

The opener is having a hard time operating the door. It sounds like the door is out of balance. The door should stay all the way up at half down and all the way down. You should be able to raise and lower the door by hand EASILY. The opener is only meant to lift10-15 lbs. Thanks BB

Where the belt attaches to the trolley carriage which attaches to the door there is a black adjustment nut with a spring on it. Tighten it up more by turning it clockwise until the belt tightens up. The belt will droop a little when the door is all the way shut normally but should not during operation. If you tighten it up too much the belt will slap on the rail during operation. Make sure the spring is set on the adjustment screw too. This holds the belt tight over time. Thanks BB

There is a button on the side of the wall-mounted remote. It has a pic of light bulb next to it. Press it once - the motion sensor is on and the lights will be on once it senses the motion; press it again and the motion sensor will be off.
