I had the dealership address the rattling of the sliding passenger door on our 2002 Honda Odyssey. The removed the inner panel and adjusted the door striker which didn't stop the rattle. Any suggestions...

The sliding door has upper roller, lower roller, and center roller mechanisms. These rollers can become damaged and rattle in their respective tracks. The upper and lower rollers are easy to inspect, as they are at the front of the door (top and bottom) and in plain sight. But the center roller cannot be inspected until the center rail cover (an exterior narrow long panel) is removed.

To remove the center rail cover, first remove the tail light assembly on the affected side. (That procedure can be found by doing a fixya search for "2002 Honda Odyssey brake light replacement"). Now open the sliding door. Notice at the front of the rail cover there is a small bolt. Remove this bolt. Go to the back of the center rail cover and remove the two screws (only accessible when tail light assembly is removed). Then slide the center rail cover rearward to remove it. Now you will be able to inspect the center roller mechanism and door cables. Look carefully for damaged rollers which will let the door wobble in the center track and rattle.

How do these rollers get damaged? When kids climb onto the doors and "slide along". The door guide rollers and latches were not designed to carry much more weight than the door itself.

I have two dimmer switches in the same box side by side. one goes to three pot lights, the other goes to a halogen track light. these have been working for 5 years. the lights have burnt out and been...

Sounds like the transformer in your track light. In the box where the green light is, the voltage is converted by a small transformer from 120v to 12v for the halogen lights. With the breaker off, try jumping out the dimmer going to the track light (disconnect the dimmer and connect the two loose wires from box together). With the breaker back on, if you have 120v power on the wires (black/white) going into the track light transformer (measured at the track light), and the green light won't come on, I'd say it's the track light transformer. You may have to replace the whole track if you can't get the transformer as a part.

We are having difficulty turning on our New Bright Holiday Express Animated Train set. Husband and I have been trying to figure this out for our eager 2 little boys. The remote seems to turn (red light)...

Here are a couple of resources from New Bright:
http://www.newbright.com/public/electric-train-faq

http://www.newbright.com/images/Manuals/384%20ws%20manual.pdf

There is no On/Off switch on the train. Power goes from wall plug to transformer, then from transformer to track clip, which must be attached to the track. A control line goes from the track clip to the controller. Mine has a green light just above the red On/Off button that will come on even if the engine and tender are not on the track. The tender does all the work, and must be connected to the engine and on the track. There are four sliding contacts between the tender wheels that provide contact with the track.

IS THERE A FEE FOR THIS INFO?.....AFTER A LOSS OF POWER FOR TWO HRS, I LOST THE USE OF THE REMOTE CONTROL..REPLACEd BATTERY, RESET THE MANUAL CONTROLS, STILL CANNOT USE REMOTE...IS THERE A RESET BOTTON OR...

I had exactly the same problem today and found the solution through trial and error.

There are two methods used by various manufacturers to set the code. The first (and easiest) is if there are slide switches in both the remote and the receiver that's in the fan housing. (The switches in the receiver might be hidden under a rubber boot.) Just make sure that they're set to the same pattern.

More likely you have the second style (like I do). If there is a small hole for a reset button on the back of the remote, follow these steps:

1. Open up the fan housing to get access to the receiver module. If the fan is mounted close to the ceiling, you'll have to remove the whole fan. If it has an extension tube, just remove the cover near the ceiling - the fan, blades and lights can stay in place.

2. If you look carefully, there is a very small slide switch on the side of the module, toward the end that the antenna sticks out.

3. Using a small screwdriver, paper clip, toothpick, etc. slide that switch. You'll hear a high-pitched sound that becomes a beeping sound after a second or two.

4. Go to your remote. Push the reset button with the paper clip or toothpick, hold for two seconds and let go. (You should feel a springy button; if you don't, it's probably because you missed the button and are pushing against the circuit board.)

5. Hopefully you'll see the display show "SE oF" (i.e. Set degrees Fahrenheit). If you like Celsius, press one of the Temp buttons to toggle between F and C.

6. While in the "SE oF" mode, press the Fan button. You should see "Cd xx", where xx is a two-digit number. Push the Temp buttons to select your choice of a code number. Press "Light" to lock in the code number.

NOTE: If this doesn't work, try some of the obvious things:
* Is the circuit breaker on?
* Is the light switch on?
* Is the light chain pulled to the right position?
(It's easy to lose track!)

7. If you have other remote-controlled fans, make sure the remote doesn't affect any of them. If it does, simply choose another code number.

8. Reassemble the fan and/or ceiling housing, turn on the fan and enjoy the breeze! If it's not at full speed, pull the fan chain to get the fastest speed.

SHIVA/KALI STATUE COURTYARD – MOVABLE STATUES WITH FANS: Approach the 2 small statues of Thai dancers holding fans. You'll notice these are set on tracks in the floor, enabling them to move. Face the big Shiva/Kali statue to get oriented and then go to the dancer statue on the right. Press Interact to grab it. Slide it along the straight track to the left. Then push it clockwise along the circular track, almost all the way back to the straight track. When it reaches the correct spot, the beam of light shining from the gem in Shiva's hand reflects off the fan the small statue is holding.
Now go to the statue on the left. Take hold of it and push it counterclockwise along the circular track all the way around to the straight track. Then slide it to the left all the way across the straight track. Finally push it forward (clockwise) just a little bit along the circular track until the sunbeam from the gem above reflects off the fan. (The diagram at right shows the sequence.)
When the statues are positioned correctly, the two beams of light strike the Kali statue and the floor opens up, revealing a doorway.moz-screenshot.jpgmoz-screenshot-1.jpg

Lutron Dimmer Not Dimming But On/Off Works

What is the dimmer rated for? Your load on the track appears to be 200 watts. A standard dimmer will burn out, you need to look on the dimmer to see what it is rated for. Did it run hot with the dimmer before you had this problem? They make dimmers for higher wattage that will do the job for you.
