Question about Coby MP828 MP3 Player
Have already connected to laptop, but can not transfer music. Need to find out how to transfer photos/videos as well.
1. Insert the Cd into the CD Drive of your computer.
2. In the start menu in the bottom left corner of the screen, select "Programs" If using Windows 98 or "All Programs" If using windows XP or Windows Vista.
3. Left click the mouse on "Windows Media Player" that appears in the menu.
4. Once windows media player opens click the "Rip" tab at the top of the box, and on this page select rip music.
- This will copy all the music from the cd into the Windows Media Player library, effectively ripping the music from the CD onto your computer.
5. Next, Click on the Sync Tab at the top of the box.
This will bring up a menu with two Drop down boxes, one on the left and one on the right. The left dropdown menu is the source menu, and this should be used to locate your music in your library. If you are having trouble finding the music, then simply click all music. This will copy all the music in your windows media player to your MP3 Player. Tick the boxes of the songs you would like to copy to your mp3 player
6. In the right drop down menu, select your MP3 Player and this will be the destination in which your music will be sync'd to.
7. Click start Sync and wait for the dialogue bar to complete (100%).
Hopefully you should have all your music on your MP3 Player now.

When you connect the MP3 player to yourcomputer with the supplied USB cable then computer detects the player as anexternal storage device or a Removable disk, you can then view the folder onyour MP3 player. Open the music folder and create a new folder on the playerexactly the same way you create a folder on your computer's hard drive. Toorganise your music, make a folder name with the name of the music album andplace the album's MP3 files in this folder, then copy the mp3 files from thecomputer into this folder.
You will then be able to select the music you want to play by the music albumfolder. To delete a filefrom your MP3 player, connect the supplied USB cable to your player and thenplug it into the USB port of your computer.
The computer will detect your player then click on this device to view thefiles, you can then click on the music file to highlight the file and thenpress the Del key to delete the file off your MP3 player. Check the specification of your MP3 player to determine thetype of video file format it uses. Most common video files that MP3 players use are, AVI andWMV, there may be others such as FLV, MOV and DivX.If your player cannot play a video then it is an incompatiblevideo file format, then you need to convert that video file to a format thatyour MP3 player uses.Click on this link for instructions on converting videofiles for MP3 players :-http://www.fixya.com/support/r5874192-play_videos_mp3_playerMP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You can download mp3 music files from the Internet toyour computer and then copy them to your MP3 player. For your CD collection, you need to convert your CDs tomp3 music files onto your computer or download them from the Internet and thencopy them to your MP3 player after you have connected the USB cable tothe MP3 player and the computer.
