Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

I have a Canon MP450, SN JASA 15622. I am receiving an "error code 5100" on my screen. Also, the off/on button is flashing green and the alarm button is flasing yellow. I just replaced the ink cartridge after receiving the low ink message. I have tried rebooting to no avail.

The error code 5100 means that there is something obstructing the printing process.
There should be something obstructing the gears such as dirt or small piece of paper.
Also make sure that the ink cartridges are positioned properly .

You can try hard reset .

Unplug the unit for 30 minutes and plug back the power cord to the unit .

ERROR MESSAGE SAYING CHECK 5100

Hi,
Check your cartridges are good, must be sat correctly.

check that the timing strip is in the center

1. clean **** strip film
2. clean **** strip film sensor
It is located at the back of head carriage, use a contact cleaner.

check something is not blocking the carriage.( usual suspect )

To reset
1. Turn off printer
2. Hold down Resume button and press Power button.
3. Keep holding down Power button and let Resume button go.
4. Press Resume button 2 times then let BOTH buttons go.
5. Green lights will flash and then stop blinking.
6. When green lights are solid, press the Resume button 4 times.
7. Press the Power button and the printer should turn off, if not,
press the Power button once more.
8. Your printer should respond as normal..
Or, press reset( or resume) button 4 times then power.

Hope this helps

firstly, hi, any way check that ur ink cartriges are not low. if not you may have a software problem. Try uninstalling the software, taking the plug out of the back and try again. Install the software and turn the fax back on. It may work, if not u may have an hardwear issue, return it tp Canon with the warranty on the fax

I am using a fax machine Canon L80 and waiting to receive a fax ... it's blinking between and says "received in memory" and "check paper size" ... not sure what to do.

"Check paper size" means that the paper in the machine doesn't match the size selected in the setup.

To change the paper size:
1. Press the Function button.
2. Press the Data Registration button.
3. Press Set button.
4. Use up or down arrows until you see PRINTER SETTINGS.
5. Press Set button.
6. Use up or down arrows until you see PAPER SIZE.
7. Press Set button.
8. Use up or down arrows until you see type of paper in the paper tray (LTR, LGL, A4).
9. Press Set button.
10. Press Stop/Reset button.

Machine should now print out the fax that was received in memory.
