I have done some troubleshooting on this. i just need to know if there is anyone that knows how to rebuild or repair the receiver that is in this fan. it controls the light function only right now. i can hear a relay or something click and the fan motor only hums and doesnt move. there are no manual controls for this fan and the receiver costs 50.00 i can probably replace a capacitor or something for a dollar or two.

I have a Hunter 60" Grand Lodge Ceiling Fan (23529) My light works but the fan will not.

A quick check to do, is disconnect the power going to the fan (switch off power board) only do this if your a qualified electrician.

Check for volatge AC on the live and neutral wires first then,
After that take out the wires of the fan should be live and neutral.
And check there resistance with a
multimeter. Should be 80-200R (ohms)

If it doesn't read make sure you have plugged your probes in your meter and touch them together to see if they are 0hms. Then check for reading again.

If there is no reading make sure you have correct wire.

If no reading again it means the fan is dead. The windings have open circuit.

To check the switch working. (Remember power is off) put probes across switch and see ohms. Should be either 0 ohms or no reading. 0 ohms showing it's in on position and no reading shows off position. If both readings are no readings then the switch is dead.

To get to the switch you have to open it physically

My fan doesn't work, we have changed the batteries in the remote, the light still works though.

This is most likely a receiver in the fan hub at the ceiling which has failed. This can be tested, but if you don't have electrical troubleshooting experience, it's probably best just to replace the receiver.

More info?...please let me know.

Light remote control stopped working

most of my fan controls have done this to me. you know the reciever is working cuz the fan works fine. you need to dis assemble the remote completely and clean the contacts for the light button. mine are two small black dots that seem to keep getting slimey and wont work till i clean them, then all works like brand new again.

good luck.

No dip switch in Hunter 27157 remote control.

Those aren't transistors in the transmitter they are jumpers. Match the jumper settings with your dip switch settings in the receiver. You can move the jumpers in the transmitter using a small needle nose pliers. An open jumper in the transmitter equals an OFF setting on the dip switch in the receiver.

Good luck!
