Question about Canon DR-9080C Path-Through Scanner
Dear Canon DR-9080C Specialists My Canon DR-9080C does not recognize duplex files, it only scans the front side but not the back. Software seems to work right. Now I found something maybe this could be the answer: If I open the scanner and switch it on the upper reading unit lights shortly in green but the lower reading unit lights shortly in red! Does this mean that the lower reading unit is broken? Is there a way to fix the lower unit by myself? Without a horrible expensive exchange of the unit? Would the scanner even work with a disassembled lower reading unit? Any solutions? I cannot find something about the service manual about red light in the reading units! Thank you for your help
Ensure you have selected Duplex option. Canon DR 9080C uses LED lights and hence the chances of failure of light source is fairly low. Try scanning in Color.
The scan module, if required, can be replaced and is available in the market between $600 to $750. Please ensure that the module is faulty before replacing. (the upper and lower modules are interchangeable, except for a few plastic parts)S. Mohan, Chennai, India

SOURCE: Canon DR-9080C CaptrePerfect 3
Captureperfect 3 is not available on the Net. Only version 2.311 is available. (It may also be called upgrade) Download this and this can meet yr basic requiremnts. http://software.canon-europe.com/products/0010035.asp
The upgrades wont work without ver 3.0!

SOURCE: Canon DR-9080c Ghosting Problem
Though I've never seen this on any scanner, I can imagine it being a reading glass out of place. This could cause a weaker reflected image overlaying the direct one. Look at the top & bottom glass strips in the transport area. They should look level & unbroken.

There is a paper sensor just under the rolers in the lifting tray. Clean the area thoroughly with a damp cloth. Keep some sheets and try ]count only'. If it works then the sensor is okay, then you can try your scanning. If it is not sensing paper, check the sensor or connections to the sensor.
