Question about Dell Office Equipment & Supplies
We have a Dell 5230n printer connected to our network. Approximately 6 weeks ago an "firmware error" message began appearing when anyone tried to send network print jobs to the device. IT installed the most current version of the device firmware and power cycled the device. The error did not appear again until yesterday. Now the error message is appearing when anyone sends a print job to the printer. Any thoughts?

Please try installing the below patch and check for the result:

This printer is notoriously problematic and you may be better off getting a new printer. We had one of these and it only lasted about 1 year before the same problems occurred. We trashed it after fighting for a while.
The problem is with the printers formatter. Unfortunately, if it is out of warranty, you are out of luck as a new printer is probably less expensive than the fix. Here is a forum regarding this issue on HP's website.

I would contact HP directly to see if this machine can be fixed. Sorry to break the bad news and I hope you find a solution soon.
