Deep fryer hi i have the same deep fryer...did you ever figure out how to get the lid to stay open. called rival.....no help thanks

If the lid will not stay open, there should be a small spring in the hinge. I am not sure of your model, But some have a safety interlock that will not allow operation with the lid open. These usually have a feature of raising and lowering the basket with the lid closed like some chemistry experiment!
What's wrong with a manual wire basket?

If the spring is not fitted correctly, or missing, it's fiddly but not impossible to replace.

Emptying the deep fryer


Ther below taken straight from the RIVAL web site.
Remove the oil bowl by lifting the bowl straight up out of the plastic exterior. To replace oil bowl, be sure the brass guide post (between the 2 electric prongs on the bottom of the bowl) is aligned properly with the center hole of the receptacle in the bottom of the housing. The brass guide post should guide the electric prongs into the correct position. Firmly press on bowl to ensure it is positioned properly. Lid should close tightly.

used the correct cord. have a Fry Daddy and the plugs a very similar but are not interchangeable. Thank you for the responce

With lid in open position just pull it straight up and off.
