SOURCE: 1997 Polaris XLT Triple. Do I really need to pull

I have 1995 and a 1997 XLT. i have rebuilt the recoil on the 95 and all it takes is the few bolts to take off the cover and take the pipe off. if the 97 is any thing like my dads 94, you may have to pull the engine up a bit, the bottom left bolt cant fully be backed out with out hitting the side of the belly pan retainer, all it takes to pull the motor up is one nut in the back of the motor mount, and one bolt off the front, and it will tip up enough

SOURCE: i have a 1995 polaris 600 triple it fires but does

CHECK THE COMPRESSION OF THE ENGINE, IF IT IS AT ABOUT 120PSI AND DOES NOT HAVE A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CYLINDERS OF 15% THAN CHECK YOUR FUEL PUMP. YOU DO THIS BY REMOVING THE SPARK PLUGS AND FUEL LINES TO YOUR CARBS AND PULLING IT OVER. IF FUEL COMES OUT OF YOUR LINES THAN THE FUEL PUMP IS GOOD. THAN I WOULD CHECK YOUR CRANK SEALS FOR LEAKING

Mulitply cyclinder mis fire

Basically this means that the the car's computer has detected that not all of the engine's cylinders are firing properly.

A misfire diagnostic code P0300 indicates a random or multiple misfire. If the last digit is a number other than zero, it corresponds to the cylinder number that is misfiring. A P0302 code, for example, would tell you cylinder number two is misfiring. Unfortunately, a random misfire code doesn't tell you specifically which cylinder(s) is/are mis-firing, nor why.

Symptoms may include the engine may be harder to start, the engine may stumble / stumble, and/or hesitate and other symptoms may also be present.

If you need this or additional details about DTC Fault Codes, feel free to contact us clicking the links.

Hope this helps and have a nice day.

Have a 1994 Yamaha Virago 750. Just running on rear cylinder. Good compression and fireing.

Have you checked the spark at the high tension lead or at the sparkplug of the front cylinder?
To make sure the plug is in working order take it out, attach it with a wire to the cylinder, connect the HT lead and see if the spark really reaches the gap. if it doesn't or it's weak then the plug is shorted replace it.

92 250 polaris indy lite snowmobile that back fires when pulling over

I have the same problem.....I believe it is a result of low compression. I have also noticed the problem to be worse in warm climate. Check compresion on both cylinders would be a good place to start.

Indy 500 motor knocks

could be bad gas. try running fresh gas. if that dont work you have internal problems. make sure it is firing on both cylinders though. when you start it cold you can feel if one is running hotter than the other. do a compression test. 120 psi is normal and no more than 10 lbs difference between cylinders. if one is low motor needs a rebuild
