No fuses. The only thing in the circuit is the switch, so it's probably that. Good-luck.

My Hoover floormate motor started smoking. It is over 9 years old. I keep the floor brushes clean. I am wonder if replacing the mother is worth it.

MSRP on this motor is $69.95. Labor may be another $30.00. I often see these units in thrift shops, which may be worth a try.

Spin brush will not spin. local repair man said one gear stripped and motor would need replacement. is this correct??

There is a plastic rod that sticks out of the back of the spin brush, this makes all of the brushes rotate. The motor would need to be replaced if it was not turning on anymore. this doesn't sound right...?

I think it is just a broken piece of plastic on the block brush which will need to be replaced.

You can find a schematic and the parts you need on this link

Hoover Alyx 2000w, no power. Help!??

Its a possibility then that if the fuse has been replaced that the cable inside has either come apart or you have a broken switch. If its only a year then you should be covered automatically with Hoover's guarantee.

Brushes not contacting floor

It is unlikely that you have worn the brushes to the point that they no longer contact the floor properly unless you use it daily and have a very rough tile or concrete floor and even then they should outlast the machine. It is more likely that there is a problem with the switch that moves them up and down for different floor settings. Also remember that the brushes will be up while the unit is in the upright position no matter what the switch is set to only when you bring the handle down in the operating position do the brushes lower to contact the floor. Pull the brushes out and check to see nothing is interfering with the operation of the brush adjustment or for any broken parts. As for the squeegee they do get deformed and this will prevent the unit for sucking up the water properly so it should be replaced if needed. For any parts visit www.stevessewandvac.com if you don't see what you need listed email them someone can help.

Does not pick up water

I have had my Hoover Floormate for years. It has always worked great but the last few times I used it the amount of water left is tremendous and the container for dirty water was not full at all. I looked at it and the hose going up from the bottom thru the handle is broken how do I fix this.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Hoover Floormate H3000 Upright Wet/Dry Vacuum. You can down load the owner manual from the Hoover website www.hoover.com . It looks like the one of the holding or recovery tanks my not be in place, leaking, cracked or damaged, or the clear tube is leaking and needs replacing. I looked 2 the owner’s manual and it does not show the clear tube but the vacuum does come apart and just back track the clear tube and mark the screws when you disassemble the unit. Other wise , please call the factory or a local Hoover warranty station in your area. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
